Brake noise when backing up??

I've noticed that when I cold start and back up and turn my wheels all the way to one direction (either way)... I hear a "rubbing" sound coming from the rear wheels. It almost sounds like the rear brakes are engaged. and yes, the E brake is off.

Kind of hard to explain.... anyone else have any noises while they are backing up...at slow slow speeds... like backing out of my garage.

Are your rotors rusted from washing? That when I seem to get that sound until the surface rust is swiped away after the first application.

I guess I can take another "closer" look... but I'm pretty sure there is no rust at all. It's only when the brakes are cold...

Hard to say what it is, I just know mine will rust over very lightly while drying after a wash and will sometimes make a rubbing noise.

Intersting... thanks for the info. I may take the rear wheels off and see what I can find.

No need to remove the wheels, you will see it very clearly on the shiny part of your rotor. it will happen in less than a hour after washing and getting the rotor wet.
