Cold Air Inductions or Vararam? Best intake?
I am leaning towards the cold air inductions intake but just seeing what everyone is running

Bout a hundred threads on this subject. Foolish to not go with the GM, genuine article, in my opinion. It works, it fits, it sounds awesome and is a 'factory unit.'

There are quite a bit of good intake systems out there like Cold Air Inductions, K&N, SLP, Holley, LG, Vararam, Injen, Halltech, New Era Performance.
We've had great success with Roto-Fab intakes with performance. Feel free to call, email, or PM any time with questions. Regards, Brandon |

CAI has been our top seller for the 5th gen for good reason. You can't go wrong with either though.

I like Vararam idea of a cold and ram air intake, but keep in mind if your Camaro SS is 2012+ it won't fit unless you do 2010-2011 radiator swap or find some way to curve the intake into the TB.

OP - You have the Z28 Grill, Splitter, Rockers, Wheel Well trim, even Flowtie? Or did you clone the pic?
WHY NOT go with the Z28 CAI??? Al and his Team WOULD NOT settle for second best, doubt you could find any better than that. This Z28 unit uses the hood insulation to seal the top. Thick walls and think rubber tube help with insulation. Looks fast just sitting there. And has Z28 stamped in the end of the filter in perfectly sized font/characters. lol. Ditto Moto-Mojo. (was lucky and found some of the parts used out on ebay at big discount).

I think the Cold Air Inductions unit is the winner for me. I've been researching and they seem to lay down the best numbers.

To be honest, you can't go wrong with either one. Both are great products. I went with the C.A.I. because I like the way it looked in my engine bay. I also like the ceramic tube which helps cut down on engine heat entering the intake.

I'm not sure I understand your question. If there's a GM K&N unit I'm not familiar with it. And if K&N had something to do with the manufacture of my 'GM' unit, I didn't know that either. I just presumed it was a GM product. But I guess SOMEONE had to make it.
