wheel and tire setup for the track?

I need a good rim and tire setup for the track and Im curious what you guys are running. First off my car is lowered so from what Ive read 17 inch wheels wont work on the car without modifying the control arms. So what kind of 18 inch setups are good for the track? I dont want to use the stock 20 inch rims because i figure the more sidewall i have the better. Any input will be appreciated. I posted this in the wheel and tire section..hopefully i will get some info here.

Thanks for the info. Did you have to run a spacer with these?

On my first set I did,,, but like I said they are now making them w/ the Camaro offset so I sold the old ones and got these now. Could be wrong but I think the offset is 53

Owen ordered them for all of us on the ARD team... I know he gets them from 2 different places, but not sure of the name. The are less than 200 a piece too.

I'll check at our club meeting tonight

Ok Ive decided to go with a c5 or c6 wheel with a 56 mm offset, I think it will fit but does anyone know for sure that a 56mm offset is too much?

56 will not work, also the c6 -z06 and grand sport wheels are the only ones that will work without any spacer, not all c6 wheels , just these...watch out for aftermarket not oem c6 wheels , they all have the incorrect offset ..will not work...only oem...been there and done it...c5-z06 will work with spacer

hope that helps, at the time i bgt my oem c6 grand sport rims, could not find ANY replica wheels that had the 40mm offset, and you have to use the front c6 wheels , not sure if anyone mentioned that..the rear are 11inch rims and improper offset..will not work..18x9.5 with 40mm offset.. is what you want...if i remember they also have a 18x8.5..front rim on certain ones..but mlee has seem to have found someone who makes a 40mm replica...worth looking into...i found mine from bob- house of wheels in florida shipped for 325...they were oem blems with small imperfections...who cares i painted them black for the track...check ebay, and craigslist in your area..even scrapyards if your close...scratched up at the salvage yard , they woulkd be happy to get200...good luck.. imo, the oem are always built better in quality than replica chinese wheels..but its always an option

I know they will work if the car isnt lowered but ive read that if the car is lowed you have to modify or change the control arms. i have the pdfaft 1.25" springs in mine. Are you saying 17s will work even if the car is lowered?
