GM paintable roof ditch moldings

My camaro is in the bodyshop this week getting the curb rash fixed on the front bumper as promissed by the dealer. I decided too order the paintable roof ditch moldings and they are going too shoot them for me when they shoot the bumper. Im not going too do the antenna. Is there anyone else that has done this?

Whats the reason they're All not paintable ?
Just yank yours off, rough them up and paint them yourself.
Dont fall for these dealer con games.

2 dif part numbers the black ones a rubber coated the paintable ones come bare white plastic to prevent bleed through and must be coated with a special primer first prior to the rest of the paint process...im doin it the right way so it lasts and looks nice. I also have a wholsale account so they were 38 a piece

The amount of time required to get all of the double sided tape would kill you.
My car is black so I'm just going to leave mine unpainted.

I would like to get my shark-fin painted body color, but I don't want to have to drop the headliner to replace it. I know the Buick Lucerne had a body-colored 'fin, but I don't think a Lucerne came in CGM or if the wires are the same.

You should be able to get them pre-painted from Chevy. If not, contact Maureen at Rodgers Chevy. she can hook you up and might still take your old one back as a core.

No need to drop your headliner either. Just pull down on the headliner slightly and you can slip a 10mm wrench in there. Just tape the antenna so it doesn't twist and scratch the paint as your loosening the bolt. Two connectors to disconnect and there a pain to do one handed but it can be done.
