what kind of oil do you use?
I have my first oil change comin up and was wondering what brand of oil would be best to use and wanted to get some opinions. my buddy is sponsored by amsoil and keeps trying to get me to use it and says he can get me a good deal on it . any one here use it? will using any oil other than factory void my warranty?

Amsoil is great oil. I use Mobil 1 because it's easy for me to find.

Been using Castrol for thirty years and never had an engine problem, even on engines run 250k miles.

If you can get a deal on amsoil, go for it. I've heard good/bad stories about GM not wanting to warrant engines that dont have recommended oils. The bad stories usually involve other circumstances...(never believe everything you read on the net). Most times they just need proof of oil changes, etc. If you are concerned with warranty, use whats recommended. If not so much, go for the amsoil....its quality stuff.
