I do have visions of using the Camaro for a track car and performance may be good enough to justify the somewhat odd looking front aero..... I need to see more.....pricing and more performance data needed.

Well, the 1SS 1le track package is a $6500 package. I guess you can imagine what the ZL1 1le package will cost. And you add in PDR, and you are looking at a camaro starting around $75k. Maybe even close to $80k. I am not going to get too excited unless I see some pricing. At this point, it is looking very costly and not likely to see any discount due to limited nature. Just my guess.

Base. $69,995. Not sure of any options or what not, but it will land easily in the mid $70's. If they go nuts and price this car in the $80's, it will just sit.

Not really.

Making your thread 'the' thread about the ZL1LE would mean that the first ~10 posts from this afternoon about the rumour get left in, making for a confusing mess, or deleted for no reason other than making a thread a little more tidy, in addition to re-writing a persons post for the sake of content.

None of those make for very good options.

I guess the old adage of a car losing value the minute it’s driven off the lot needs updated to account for major depreciation while you wait multiple months for GM to fulfill your order.

The only way to prevent newer and better cars from devaluing legacy product is to not introduce something newer or better.

And when demand for something is several times the monthly production capacity ... it takes a few months to fulfill that demand. Spiking production of ZL1s to 5 or 6 times the normal rate just isn't really possible. You couldstockpile parts, but that doesn't get cars built any sooner -it delays it by several months as supplies get built up. Or you could pay an ungodly amount of money to get suppliers to buy 5x the tooling for your stuff (plus extra production lines and manpower) only to get rid of 80% of it a month later once the initial demand is met. GM isn't going to eat that cost, they're going to pass it on to you.

Those are pretty much the options: have everybody wait an awful long time, charge a lot more to get it now, or what they actually do and have some get their cars early while others get them later. Its not ideal, but its better than the alternatives.

Why would it be discontinued? One for the SS, the other is for the ZL1. Its no different than having the V6 1LE & the SS 1LE. Take a trim level, enhance the handling, call it a ____ 1LE. Done.

Last week a dealership had a manual ZL1 with ADM at a grand total of $84K. Be prepared to see this on lots between $85-90K. Chevrolet has did it folks! A $90K Camaro!

The fact that GM chose a manual for their most track capable Camaro ever either means they’re holding back the A10 for a ZL1 1LE R , or maybe GM really knows the manual is superior to the A10 on the track.

It's all very interesting for sure. I assumed GM was holding back the ZL1 6-speed Nurburgring times due to cost (having to compensate the track), but now I'm not so sure.

That ZL1 1LER name is close to being a Killer.

The video seems to be audio of an A10...maybe they just used stock audio.

Pretty cool, track focused, fills part of Z/28 niche.

The 6 has been one surprise after another, so don't count out a Z/28 just yet.
