My Addiction
|
I have no delusions in thinking that a V6 could keep up with a V8. Maybe if a twin turbo or a supercharger came into play, they'd have a chance but stock to stock? No way.
That being said, my Camaro is my DD so V6 was more appealing due to MPG. Granted its not much better, but my last 2 vehicles were both of the Jeep variety and I was lucky if I got 15 MPG on average. INCLUDING highway miles. The other factor for me was that I wanted a convertible and I cannot justify dropping that kind of coin for the V8 version when my car has all the bells and whistles of the V8 - minus a couple cylinders. Do I at times wish I had the V8 so I could blow smoke up some punks AZZ who thinks he all badazz by trying to goad me into racing my stock V6 against his modded V8 mustang? Sure. But I find comfort in knowing that while his car may be faster, mine is 10 times sexier.... because of the car itself, and because I am driving it. "Nuff said.

Where are these V-6 Camaro's that run 10's? I gotta call BS. Not saying anything bad about them cause I really don't care, would just like to see it

I wanna see it, too. Not prepared to call BS given that would probably only require a little more than doubling the power with some other extras, but I'm not going to believe it until I see it either.

Some people don't always have to have the best there is, or they knew they didn't need a V8. I have a ton of respect for the V6 guys and girls. Most of them are a real cool bunch of people. It gets really annoying when you have some of the V8 guys attacking them all the time.

Did not want an SS I use my Camaro as a daily driver my wife said get the SS if you want I said no it will turn into my 2nd Garage Queen/Trailer Queen my other is my 01 Z28 and I drive that once a month.
The 2LT/RS has been a great car I have no regrets not buying the SS. Sean

Had my choice between an SS and a 2LT RS and since it was going to be my daily driver went with the better gas milage, cheaper insurance, (Have a 16 year old just get his license), and got a fully loaded 2LT.

Yep. I believe I saw it in a little blurb in Camaro Performers, but I could be mistaken. Basically what I got from it is that the guy stripped out all the non-essentials and turned it into a track car. Then he decided he wanted to be unique and put in a remote twin turbo (might have been just a remote turbo), but yea.

Do we really need another one of these threads? Is no one tired of this? Everyone either got what they can afford or what they wanted simple as that. Do we really need a new thread every other week to have this same discussion?...
