weird cars trying to race?

I went out tonight for dinner and the wife and I drove around for a bit just enjoying the car some.. no biggie right?

Keep in mind I read the forums here a lot about dumb people trying to race you all the time but in this case the cars that wanted to race was shocking to me. I had no less than 4 different cars try to race but none of them were even cars I would have expected that kinda crap from here is the list:

-Old old old dude in a lincoln mks, this guy pulled up next to me at a redlight and I never expected anything at all then all of a sudden he ripped off and must have ended up going 80 or more on Woodward (50mph speed limit I think)

-Next up we had a newer mazda r8 or whatever they are now he kept pulling next to me and taking off and when he finally realized i wasnt going to race he ripped off spinning a wheel or something making a noise that sounded like a bumble bee trapped in a can

-Then we had some turd in a beat up miata almost clip two cars after getting up next to us then speeding off trying to impress us is the only thing i could figure but he was inches away from death and extremely lucky a van didnt run his matchbox over

-Lastly we had a (the only respectable car of the night in my opinion) Challenger that pulled up next to us on 696 all i wanted to do was get off at my exit and he was on my right speeding up and slowing down everytime i tried to get over lol I ended finally almost coming to a stop before I could get behind this guy and get off the expressway

So be careful out there.. its not the teenagers with mustangs trying to race you have to worry about, its the innocent looking cars you never expect to try race or try to put you in a ditch that should scare the hell out of you.

lol ever think maybe they just wanted to hear your car or something like that. i remember my friend in a older BMW tried to race a vette just so he could see the vette take off lol. theres also crazy things and crazy people on woodward lol!

I've read the posts in the past and thought some were made up, but. I was on an expressway the other day and some guy in some kind of Toyota wouldnt let me go past him, I wasnt racing him, just speeding up to get into his lane and the faster I went the faster he went. He was going under the 65 limit when it started but we were going 88 when I decided to stay in the left lane. I mean really did he think he would win if I really wanted to get in front of him?

Tucson's famous for its aggressive drivers. I drive mine to work once a week (a 54 mile commute) at 5:00 AM. Even with the light traffic through town at that time, there's always someone in a POS that wants to run light-to-light. Then they get mad at you for ignoring them!

Have you ever been to the Motor City? You hit Woodward here in MI on a nice summer day and you will see more nice cars here than you can imagine. Come during the dream cruz and you will see more in one place than anywhere in the world at one time.

I usually have run ins with people here in Chicago that like to use the bus lane (right) at stop lights in an attempt to jump several positions further up in traffic.. I can usually tell when they're going to since they start slowly rolling forward almost in to the intersection right before the light turns green... I've seen a couple almost put themselves in to parked cars trying to beat me across the intersection..

I'm sure to them, it seemed like I was trying.. I was simply accelerating how I normally do, which while usually faster than most others, is not me racing them to the other side.. It's usually some POS car that I have no doubt they'd steer in to me.
