How Effective are the Brembo's on the V6?
I have the entire front SS brake assembly (lines, rotors, calipers etc) on my car and I just bought the rear SS brake assembly. I can tell a huge difference with just the front brembo's but does anyone know how much more effective the entire system is on the V6? Stock for stock the SS out brakes the V6 but when you put the SS brake assembly on the V6 I'm sure it will swing in favor for the V6. I'm just curious if anyone has done any testing or has any info.

As I recall from a review or two, the SS only stops a couple feet short of the V6 anyway - there's less fade with the Brembos and with them, you'd probably leap-frog the SS by another couple feet, but you're still talking a hefty chunk of change for just a couple feet. So the question is, is it really worth it to you?

I can't give you a omparison between Front only and Front + Back as I installed them all at the same time, along with braided-steel lines.
The braking is much improved on a track - I've never had to use them to their fullest on the road yet, and I hope I never have to! On a track, I was able to brake later before the corners - and I still haven't found the limit, I was going progressively and still had some margin by the time the weekend was over. There's still some brake-fade, but much less than before, and it seemed to be limited, consistent and predictable. Can't go wrong with that mod!

Not to mention, those extra feet might save your Camaro or even you someday. Useful both for daily and performance driving, that's why it was my first mod!

My normal brakes does the Job, the SS need the Brembo because of the power
which the V6 doesn't have which makes the Brembo brakes not so necessary My opinion anyway |

I would say for racing do the upgrade. The V6 brakes suck when it comes to driving them hard.

Bourgui do you have a link to the braided steel lines you bought for the Brembo's, think i might go ahead and buy those too.

One of the best upgrades I have done to my car; shorter stopping distance, better brake feel and no more fade.

Actually, the V6 stops 6 feet shorter than the SS in mag tests and by GM specs. But, like others have mentioned, they won't do it as many times in a row. I love the Brembo mod myself! With braided lines and GOOD brake fluid it gives much better feel and control (read modulation) to the braking! I'm using ATE Blue ($13/liter). It takes a little over 1 liter to do the whole system. Now if I can just get these EBC Blue NDX pads to work right... I think I have them figured out now so, we'll see.
