Geez you wont believe this, need advise asap
Ok so long story short my camaro key got washed with a load of clothes last night. When I got the key out the machine. Was able to unlock car alarm ect. Now this morning car wont start but the unlocking still works. I only have one key. So now stuck in house. The battery was leaking a little so just took it out. Is my key fried or is there a way to get it to still work?

I had the same thing happen to my key, though mine went to the dryer also. I had to get a new key fob.

If you can open it up, put it in a bowl of uncooked rice overnite. That will remove any moisture.

also, if the rice trick does not work, you can try spraying wd-40 on it. It was actually made as a water displacement material, so it does remove water. Your key's internals will be oily after that, but you can try wiping them off. I'd bite the bullet and buy the spare key btw. If you can get the original to work, good, keep it as a spare, but I bet the key won't work as well or all the time even after drying.

I always thought it was "Fixed Operatic Beacon." My brother was being funny by calling it "Fuzzy Opaque Bacon."
