Rear rotors won't come off. LS 2011 help!

I removed the brake caliper and the T30 screw on the rotor. For some reason the rotor will not come off. The e brake is not on. That's where I thought I was going wrong. Also banged the **** of of them with a hammer so i dont know

any chance your e-brake on? most of the e-brakes are drum brakes build into the hub... so the e-brake needs to be off.

I've had this happen on some older cars with disc brakes and it took tapping the e-brake drum while rotating the axle. Then beating the hell out of the backside of the rotor until it popped off. Rotors are ruined after this treatment however. Be careful whilst wielding hammers as well. Other parts may be damaged should you become exuberant with your swings. Patience and endurance is required.

Hit it with a rubber or plastic mallet around the entire rotor should come after a few hits, not uncommon due to rust buildup just be patient do not use a metal hammer unless you are installing new rotors

sorry... missed the part the e-brake is off.

yea not much you can do except beat on it. this is bad cause it often leads to failed bearing later. sometimes you can get a puller on there instead of beating it.

Squirt plenty of penetrating oil in the wheel studs holes a few time, and tap the rotor with a hammer between the studs and on the flat surface outside of the wheel studs.
Wait about 10 minutes between application and try the hammer after the fourth application.

Using your drum brake adjustment spoon turn in as much as possible in the event there is a ridge from the drum parking brake. I doubt it, but it is one less friction surface on the inside of the rotor.

I like to use multiple applications of PB Blaster around the hub and wheel studs. To prevent damage to the rotor and maximize the force of your hammer blows, use a dead-blow hammer like this one:

http://www.harborfreight.com/4-lb-ne...mer-41800.html

Tap around the hub and try to beat it off from behind. If it's not moving yet, apply some more PB Blaster and let it do it's thing for ten minutes or so then start with the hammer again. If it seems like it's getting hung up on the parking brake shoes, pop out the adjuster plug and rotate the adjuster in order to back off the parking brake shoes a little. It will come off eventually.

Um How about turning the E-brake adjuster so that it pulls the shoes back in so they don't hang up on the edge of the drum that is part of the rotor ? That way you don't have to beat the piss out of the rotor with a sledge . LOL

Keep beating on them . They will come off , Deadblow hammers like others have said work great ,New rotors more than likely needed and if it was me I be putting them on regardless

It would move a little if that were the case. I think it's just rusted on.
