^ looking forward to our daughter moving to a forward facing seat, looks like the wife will gain a ton of legroom. For the RF seat the passenger seat has to be all the way forward.

Since T-tops are no longer an option, my vote is red vert

Buy the convertible, get good insurance, and enjoy!
It is why I don't have a convertible anymore. I had someone slash my roof trying to break in. The car was out of commission for about 2 months due to there being only 2 shops in my area the fixes them.

Just my opinion, convertibles are more for girls. Nothing wrong with buying one though. Also don't like the look of the rag top vs the hard.

thats as silly (and sexist) as saying manual transmissions are a guy thing or V6's are for girls.

That sucks, but that must have been a pretty stupid car thief... first I can't think of a place to cut the top on these that would make reaching the lock or door handle possible... breaking a window would be a much easier and faster way to get in. And if he'd been successful at stealing it, he would have had a more difficult and expensive repair on his hands... assuming he was a steal it to sell it, rather than a punk looking for a joyride type thief.

Faced with a 2 month wait to get it fixed, I'd probably leave it alone through summer and just leave the top down, then drop it off at the shop and let them fix it over winter.

Had a Jeep for 10 years, the top was off from March - October. Camaro Vert owner now, and that's still the plan.
I also teach at a High School, the Vert gets compliments often. I love the hard tops too, but that fresh air really is the way to go.

Are you pale white? If so, you will have a higher chance of getting a skin cancer. So get a hard top! If not you can reconsider of getting a convertible.

I have 13 Vert. I have to say I probably would have been just as happy with a coupe. Mine is a Sunday driver, so on those nice days having the top down can't be beat. But, not every Sunday is sunny and warm. Plus, having owned five convertibles, mostly German, I am not convinced the Camaro has the best designed top. Also, on trips, the trunk space is almost non-existent and even with the top up its a noisy car. Since I have a 13, I a hoping I do not have any of the problems discussed, but I am always looking it over to make sure. I just feel GM could have invested I bit more in the top. I feel as though its a +20 year old design. A folding decklid would have been nice.

I dream about having an SS with loud exhaust, tuned, etc. A result of too much time on C5. I know folks mod their vert's, its a harder pill to swallow with additional noise. I am 49 years old wanting to do everything I cold not afford at 18.

Also, the premium for and SS over an LS is already too much in my opinion, the 6.2L really is a true money maker for GM, $8-10K premium. Add the $6K premium for a vert, wow, how did a $25K car turn into $40K for two upgrades. On new Silverado's it cost $1K to upgrade from a V6 to a V8. But an SS vert is a phenomenal car. I have owned Silverado's for 15 years, nobody has yet to roll down their window at a stop light to tell me what a great truck it is. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to buy an LS and upgrade to a 5.3L for $1K? Would the Mustang still even exist?

I take the driver and woods out and lay the whole thing across the back seat. Works great for a standard set of men's clubs and a walking bag

Edit: congrats op, enjoy the experience

This is the main reason I will never own a convertible- no head protection. Thank goodness I had a top when I flipped upside down in this one.

if you live in a warm weather climate get a vert, if not don't even think about it, you will regret it. Simple as that. Verts are not my cup of tea, but a lot of people gravitate towards them.
