Hello, currently have 285's GY Eagles all the way around.

Have replaced rears from 305's to 285's but now my fronts are having outwear and need to be replaced.

Should I stick with the GYs or is there a better suggestion.

I DONT track the car, and it only gets driven 1-2 a month, never in the snow or anything.

Are you running factory ZL1 rims, or aftermarket? If aftermarket, what are the rim sizes?

Are you interested in more performance than your current GYs? Are you looking for a decent performing but long lasting tire? Or a high performance grippy tire that doesn't last as long? Details.

I have factory ZL1 wheels.

I like the GYs but as I said I don't track it so its no needed to have a super high performance tire. So If i could find some middle ground that would be awesome

Period: MPSS for what you want. I've been on several sets on different cars since 2012. MPSS all day.

Best bang for your buck are the BFG's Comp 2's. I've heard great things about the MPSS, but they are just as pricey as the other competitive tires for the ZL1 rims.

I agree. I have these in ZL1 sizes. I can only compare them to the factory P zeros but great tire for the money.

I just ordered the BFG Comp 2 A/S from Discount Tire. out the door for 800 - 75 rebate. They had to order them in as teh 285's are on back order from BFG.

In part it depends on where you live and if you have to deal with cold weather. I'm in Florida and my next set will be NT555 G2, they are a high performance summer tire.

personally i wouldn't put the oem GY's back on mine if they were free. Picks up every rock and breaks loose as soon as the boost comes in. Switched to MPSS's w/ the 315 on the rear and it dead hooked before my lastest mods. Now it will to break loose at full boost but not anything like the GYs did when stock. The Michelins don't pick up and sling as much crap.

However...my approach was pay the money for the Michelins thinking they'd last 3x's as long as a DR. When i was under it wiring in the Forza controller i noticed the rears are twice as worn as the front...so they're no miracle tire for wear. The only time they get abuse is when they break loose at speed. I have yet to dump the clutch on the Michelins.

So if they stick to the road they're going to wear no matter how much you pay. But the MPSS is 10x's the tire that the GY is. If nothing else the GY's are suicidal on the road when its cold. Michelins have been just fine thus far this winter.
