I think it is a nice feature. U have to see it in person to see how it is. And I think you could turn it on and off. Everybody has there own taste. I want to see it in person.

It's distracting? How many people here have driven with portable navigation systems stuck to their windshields and been fine?

Sure, the HUD display is right in front of you, but all it takes is a quick glance down and your line of sight is still the road ahead considering how you can see straight through the display.

"Toy" about sums it up. I actually like looking down at the gauge cluster(s).
Even if it was offered as an optional feature.. I wouldn't bother.

My wife has this on her new 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXS. We both like it. It's cool to see the name of the song appear when the song changes. Yeah, I wouldn't trade in my 2010 in (# 7992) just to have this but ...again, we like it.

Isn't this your video tribone? I found what looks like the same video on another site that doesn't give you any credit, if that's the case. No wonder I don't go there often...

What a crock of crap!

Everyone cried like a little girl when the camaro arrived with out HUD. Now everyone is crying like a little girl because HUD came out.

One member on here was pretty critical of HUD when he saw the actual configuration, but when shown the video of the original example of HUD in a promotional video (prior to the car even coming out) he thought it was cool. What are the differences?....it looks the same to me.

I completely agree it needs to be an OPTION! But I just don't see how people can be so disappointed in something they were so passionate about the car not having when it was released. Based on the description of what HUD displays I don't think there is a lot more they can display. It shows useful and meaningful data to HELP YOU DRIVE.

DISCLAIMER: I realize not everyone who has posted was around when the HUD was first discussed, and vice versa.

When I test drive the 2011 2SS, I will give a full report.

Do we have standard package prices on the 2LT and 2SS from both years to compare how much the HUD is adding to the 2011?

Are there really people out there that will absolutely NOT buy a 2LT/2SS due to the HUD addition? If so, wouldn't a dealer be inspired to work something out?

I think it is a great addition to an already awesome line-up of toys for the 2SS, which is what we are going to order.

That goes for most things, but I don't see how you can forget about something that's right there in front of you that you use every time you drive. It may have lost it's "WOW" effect but it's still useful and handy right?

The wow does wear off, but you don't know how much you really use it until it's gone!
Years ago I had a Buick Ultra with HUD and auto dimming mirrors.... and I wish I still had those options on my current car! I'll wait for the 2011 to get both of those back!
