Be cool if they do what Dodge did. The 19’ Hellcat is $5500 cheaper then the 18’s. And the Redeye Hellcat is $5500 over the 18’s price.
Could sale a ZL1 with a LT4 and a upgrade option LT5. A all out build like the 5th gen Z28 just does not work. And cost to much to build. |

1) Yes, no one knows the answer outside those working the project 2) No, I swap Camaros like underwear when they come out with something better. 3) Maybe, I just answered the thread question. I'm sure the LT5 is on their radar. Getting it done is another story. |

GT 500 comes out Tomm. Would be a good time to introduce an LT5 Camaro and break some hearts.

I think this is the GT 500 with a DCT.

I have a question, what would be the benefit to having an lt5 when you could just put a bigger supercharger on the current lt4? I mean you could build the current motor to the exactly the same specs as the lt5 Couldn't you?

Well, for one thing it would come from GM and all necessary upgrades to the engine, drivetrain, transmission, etc to handle the additional power would already be part of the package; all backed by a factory warranty.

Yep. And then you can still upgrade if needed.

I could see a need for a slightly different hood and unique wheels for the package. I’d bet money GM has a test Camaro with the LT5. Its just too easy for them to do with the 10 speed auto. |

I feel the same, plus the A10 has shown it's limits until the aftermarket shows up. 1200 hp is about what you can get out of the Zl1. But, I'd imagine that goes with the Mustang as well.

That I'm not sure. I'm not much of a Mustang guy even tho I have a 350. Haha. Either way, I think we are at the point of limitations here honestly. The GT500 is going to be sick, but it's gonna fall in line as it should. Even the ME Vette will fall in line somewhere where it should at it's price point. How many cars are 0-60 in under 3.5? 1/4 mile times under 11 1/2 seconds? It's quite a few honestly, so it boils down to preference and budget. Stock for stock. Most of these cars are going to be pretty similar honestly so. I think we've reached that moment in time. Now, it's about.............what platform do you choose and prefer to mod? Only to end up at the same place.

2021 Z28 "If they built it, he will come" Ah unlikely. Isn't the current Alpha platform maxed out with the amount of power it can realistically handle in the ZL1 1LE??

GT500 will get a DCT. That is the game changer.
DF's will pay 25-50K over MSRP for a taste. As they did for the GT350R, they will ultimately lose their a**. Torque converter ATMs (A10) will disappear in American made performance cars shortly after the introduction of the new Mustang. That tech (for Chevrolet) will be relegated to the Silverado, Colorado and Blazer. I may be wrong... but I doubt it. An LT5 with a combination of the upcoming C8 DCT, dropped into a Camaro; That has the potential to become the megastar that may ultimately become the 7 Gen Camaro ZL1. I seriously doubt that a pushrod V8 will be found in a mid engine C8. LT5 will be parts bin available. A front engine Gen 7 ZL1 in that configuration will smoke the GT500 and all of the hellcat Mopar's (road course, strip and street) especially on the Alpha2. The C8 DOHC HO small displacement NA (I'm thinking the C8R's testing at Sebring, less the TTs) may move eventually to the next gen Z/28, DCT intact with all the fat stripped out; light and fast... Who wouldn't love to see that. Of course, this is assuming that Camaro survives the restructuring at GM. Just thinking out loud.
