Same for me, but it worked out for the better, I was able to save about 5K on a 2013 versus the 2012.
I see you have a Jeep, how do you like it. Thinking of buying one latter this year. Your's looks similar to the ones I'm thinking about. I need a good winter truck since the ZL1 stays inside during the colder months.

True! But it is crazy , seeing everyone except like two ppl saying that they are sticking with their 5th Gen. Because all was hearing is ppl saying that they want it and that it's because the 6th Gen will weigh less. But I think the 5TH Gen will be still the more unique and different from any other car exterior and interior design wise. Where 6th Gen will be less standing out from other car exterior and interior design wise basically more modern looking.

I have no payments and a 700 rwhp SS, I think I'll be good for a while. I'll spend my future funds on a 69 camaro/early 1950's Chevy 3100.

Your looking at the only two vehicles I have ever bought new. I bought the CJ 7 in 1985 and it is about to go through it's third transformation, this time with Chevy V8 power. Love both vehicles, each for their purpose and I have a 1952 Jeep army trailer to go with it.

Back in the early 80's I bought a 64' Malibu SS convertible and loved it.

I didn't realize what I had till years after I let it go.

1st year of the Malibu
Super Sport
and a convertible.

Now I have a 1st year convertible again, and it was worth every penny.
This one I'm keeping.

Dang, that's crazy! That was a fully optioned car I bet. I love how the 5th Gens look in convertible form and I wanted one but I also live how the coupes look. Man , just talking about it , make me want one right now. Hopefully, I'll be able to have both lol...

My 2012 is modded and I am not worried about a stock 2016 SS or 1LE getting close. I am however interested in the 2016 version from a standpoint of innovation and improvement. I expect the new Camaro to be better in probably every possible category, but my 2012 was a gift to me and its not going anywhere. In its current form it is as fast or faster than my stock C6 Z06 and honestly more fun for me to drive.

I am really excited as to what the next Z/28 will be. It will likely be my next Camaro, assuming they offer it.

I expect good things from the C6. With that being said, I really like this car. I've already passed on a black Stingray that is straight up Batmobile to stay in this car. I've only got about 4200 miles on it, so I'm still trying to master this one.

Anybody a Lil nerviouse we will see stock SS / 1LE six gen camaros knocking on the ZL1's door pretty soon?

And do you have any plans on making the switch? Or holding out for a future six gen ZL1? If so when do you think a six gen ZL1 will surface?

Just curious...
I need to see one first. The GT350 has caught my eye to date more than the 6th gen just do to the fact it will have 520hp min and 8k redline.

they have been so slow to anounce cost and wieght though I am in a holding patter even on it.

IMO it won't be light enough with the LT1 to care since the zl1 makes power so easy.

now a lighter car with the LT4 might have pondering something.

Besides the ZL1 which the 6th Gen will not match in power. Another alternative is a 5th Gen Z28 (I own a corvette and need a back seat). However, with the 200 lbs weight reduction and the power increase within 50 HP of the LS7, could the new SS Camaro give the 5th Gen Z28 some competition? It would be depressing to spend that kind of money for a Z28, then find out that a vehicle costing almost half as much can keep up.

Perhaps I should hold off when considering a 5th gen Z28.

I expect a gen6 1LE will get close to a gen5 Z/28 similar to how the C7 Z51 did with the C6 Z06. I also expect the gen6 Z/28 to have the LT4 again similar strategy to the C7 Z06.

Mark Reuss made that comment about making the Z/28, ZL1 experince accessible at the SS level. Looking again at C7, the ZR1 performance was brought down to a Z06 base price of ~$78k.

A 3900 lb, 650 HP Camaro wouldn't surpass the 13/14 GT500 in acceleration (much less the Hellcat) but it would kick a GT350R's tail in Z/28 trim. So... IMO, there is a +700 HP engine coming for the ZR1 and ZL1. The 738 lb-ft capacity of the 8L90 automatic also points to it.

I would sign up today for a 700+ HP 6th Gen. I'll wait until that occurs and buy one. I may not be first in line this time though. I might let them work out the bugs for 1 model year. Interested to see what the roll out plan is. I think we could see more sooner with this platform because GM has had way more time to work on it and didn't go through a bankruptcy during it.
