SUMMIT POINT FATT

Talking to a Miata guy yesterday & he was telling me about Friday At The Track events at Summit Point. Wondering if anybody has any experience with this event. Sounded like a good time & a great intro to tracking the car.

It's an excellent event, been there a lot when I lived closer. Put in DOT 4 brake fluid and go have fun.

When changing the fluid would you recommend also changing the lines to stainless..

No!...But that goes against popular opinion and mine as well for many years.

Working in the OEM world I have learned more than ever over the last decade. Most people believe their pedal is more firm after the line change. Much of this can be attributed to fresh or new fluid. It can also feel different if the ID of the is decreased or the fact that new pads are often installed at the same time (thicker/less pedal travel) As a "safety-critical part, the OE parts go through tens of thousands of hours of durability and validation testing that the aftermarket doesn't as there are no regulations.

Stainless lines have their place.....but a daily driver/light duty track car they are not needed. Swap fluid and see how it feels for you...after fluid try different pads if needed.
