AFCO heat exchanger issue
Hey guys, this has probably been discussed before but I need help. I have just finished installing my afco heat exchanger with dual fans on my 2015 ZL1 and first let me say the instructions are crap! Anyway, I got it all installed and cranked up my engine to check everything and the fans did not take long to turn on, engine was not even close to being warmed up, and then they were blowing out and not sucking air in. I could not call customer service as it is Sunday. Any help with this issue would be great.

Pics would be helpful. Are you certain it's correctly mounted?

Yep, just like the instructions say, I can take some pics but it is just like the instructions say. The only thing is it says to hook the orange wire to the white wire on the pump, there is no white wire, two tan and one black.

I just went out and looked at everything and it is just like the instructions say, the black and white wire are mounted correctly, the fuses are mounted correctly, the red wires are on the power of the fuse box. The only thing is the wire on the pump. Says to connect to the white wire and as I said, there were two tan wires and one black. I chose one of the tan wires. I cannot thinks of anything that is wrong.

The instructions are crap!
I remember there was an issue with AFCO fans a while ago where one or both of the fans ran backwards. I hate to tell you this but you are going to have to call those guys and complain about it. I believe they will send you a new harness to correct the issue.

I'm not an electronics guy, but isn't that a polarity issue? I had a rear electric window in my Avalanche that would roll down if the switch was pushed down. Had to reve see the wiring.

Very easy to fix.
If the fans are on the backside (fans against the condenser) than all you do is swap the connectors pins that go to the fans(your reversing the polarity to a make them turn the other direction) If you put the fans on the front than you need to flip the heat excnager around so the fans are on the back. That was easy |

Just install a manual switch on the dash or console. In that manner you can turn it off/on as needed.
