Paint beneath 1LE hood wrap?

Anyone remove the matte black wrap on a 1LE hood?

I removed it on my last 1LE and there were 4 dull circles in the paint (about 2" circles, left to right across the hood about even with the hood vent). I found that odd. it was painted, but there were 4 dull spots.

Have a new 1LE and would like to pull the wrap, but wondering if the same blemishes will be beneath the wrap.

I did it the minute I got it home, no blemishes and looks much better IMHO.

IMO, hood wrap helps make the 1LE. Myself I wouldn’t pull a 1LE hood wrap unless there was something wrong with the wrap that couldn’t be fixed. There’s only one way you’ll know for sure. I wouldn’t expect the paint to be perfect underneath for various reasons from the hood wrap initial install or removal, or clean up from removal.

I tore mine off last week to re-wrap. GM laid a big turd on my paint with two repairs underneath.....One spot was a not completed buff spot. The other was a piece of dirt. It was sanded but not polished, DOH. I buffed both to a perfect shine but the dirt was still there in the sanded spot. No big deal as I put a new wrap on anyway.

I felt like I tore the soul of the car out after the wrap was off

Funny, I also have cherry tint coat and want to remove the matte and put the big worm full length strips on the car. Looks like 50/50 odds I’ll have some buffing to do
