New 1LE owner!
Brought home a summit white 2015 1LE yesterday. Optioned with 2SS/RS, Recaros, NPP exhaust (already pulled the fuse lol).
Coming from a cammed/geared 4th gen, the butt-dyno was not impressed. But I expected this, so I wasn't bummed about it. I am already missing the raw feeling, and tire shredding ability of my 4th gen so I will have to get started on mods soon. I also read about the low/high octane tables, and am unsure if the car had bad gas put in it so once I run this tank down and fill it with 93 I'll have to pull those fuses to reset it just incase. Is there a necessary break in period before these 5th gens start to wake up? Mine only has 300 miles so far so that could be another factor as well. Just curious if I should expect more than it's currently giving me. Besides that... This car is in a whole other league compared to my 4th gen in every way. And I am extremely satisfied. Love the way the car rides and the way it feels going around corners, though I haven't pushed it very hard yet. I love the interior and the Recaro seats. I wasn't expecting it to turn as many heads as my clean sunset orange 4th gen being how unique it is nowadays but to my surprise the 1LE is breaking necks left and right. Overall happy to now be part of the 5th gen club

Welcome. 1LEs are tits man, you will love playing with it! They are heavy cars but handle amazing and with the right mods, you can make them peppy.
Do you have any pics of your old camaro? Keep it shinny!

Thanks! It's been a while since I had the Formula but even my 4th gen SS is a better car. Granted the Formula was my first f-body and first LS powered car and I had tons of fun with it so it will always have a special place in my memories. But regardless it is not even half the car that this 1LE is.

Welcome to the club 1LE!! This car will "literally" run circles around your 4th gen. As far as 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, the 4th gen may edge it out, since it weighs less and sounds like it's not stock. (Nice color on the 4th gen and 5th gen too.) But if you get some of the usual bolt-ons and change a few things, you can gain a bit in the Gen 5. The LS3 responds well with mods and you have some nice gearing now to play with. But remember, you've bought a different beast. It's nature wants to TURN, and run on a road course or auto-x, not go heads up racing. :-P Have fun!!

Oh and as for the break in question, mine ran strong fro day 1. I had no difference doing the octane thing but I noticed a slight butt dyno difference when I put the intake and scoop on and also when I use quality gas.
