GM Reveals 2017 Cadillac XT5

Cadillac Partners with Design House Public School
TEASES FIRST-EVER 2017 CADILLAC XT5
Cadillac

September 10, 2015

Cadillac announced a unique project in which its all-new luxury crossover, the XT5, will debut at venues around the world in partnership with acclaimed fashion designers Public School. At a private kickoff event, Public School announced it would debut its Pre-Fall collection on the runway in Dubai, in collaboration with the launch of the first-ever 2017 Cadillac XT5. It is also creating an XT5-inspired capsule collection for the special invited guests at the Dubai show in November.

The upcoming XT5 will be the cornerstone of a new series of Cadillac crossovers, all bearing the “XT” designation, with number indicating relative size and position. It succeeds the current SRX, Cadillac’s best-selling product line worldwide.

The show in Dubai will mark Public School’s first international runway show, showcasing the pre-fall collection that will be available in 2016. Public School grows its global footprint through the partnership with Cadillac: the curated collection will be revealed as part of the runway show in Dubai on the eve of the Dubai Motor Show.

“This is a new way for two American brands to join forces, share a passion for design and grow globally,” said Andrew Smith, Cadillac executive director of Global Design. “For Cadillac, it gives new meaning to being a patron of the arts.”

This collaboration continues Cadillac’s engagement with the fashion community, supporting both emerging and established designers. Cadillac previously hosted Public School’s spring 2016 fashion show at its new global headquarters in SoHo. Cadillac this summer was also the presenting sponsor of New York Men’s Day (NYMD) and has a multi-season partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), which included support of the first-ever New York Fashion Week: Men’s. Cadillac earlier this fall launched a specially curated capsule collection chosen and styled by fashion icon Nick Wooster.

Eh, its not bad looking but it certainly isn't good looking IMO from the first few pictures. As always need to see 1 in person, but initial reaction is IMO the current SRX is better looking.

Eh I don't think so. SRX was never bad looking but it always seemed awkward and disjointed to me. XT5 looks like the design at least flows a little better.

In any case, just like SRX, this thing will sell like hotcakes.

Alright from these shots/angles it looks good. It's that rear 3/4 view that has bothered me in the past. Need to see it in person. No interior pics?

Nope. Technically this isn't the full reveal, that will be at Dubai and LA. It's just a preview.

Not quite as horrid as the teaser images...still not great to my eyes. I still think other packages will make this one look better than what we've seen thus far.

you better know I'm a GM fan but I don't mince words to tow the company line.

I like the rear. The rest is a no. If they think that will turn the Cadillac sales around they are wrong. IMO...FWIW.

On the contrary, you're completely wrong. Crossovers are what Cadillac needs right now.

I think what he's saying is that the styling of this particular crossover isn't going to win them many sales.

We need some alpha based crossovers that have rear wheel drive setups which can also provide awd to compete against the europeans for sure especially in the performance handling arena. They can provide more production volume from the existing factory which now makes Camaro, ATS, and CTS models.
