Emailed a Private offer from Chevy...

Hi Everybody,

I ordered a 2012 Camaro and have been patiently waiting for it's arrival. At the end of August (before it was even shipped) the dealer marked it as arrived at the dealership. Not sure why they did this but probably to count the sale in the month of August or to have the car info pulled off the site so they stop receiving inquiries about it.

Now last Friday I received an email from chevy saying that they were offering me "as a chevy owner" $1500 off the purchase of a brand Chevy (Camaro included). Now the thing is...I'm not yet a chevy owner! The email says it needs to specifically have your name in the email..which mine is.

My question is this...do you think I will be able to apply this to the purchase of my car? I haven't officially bought it/paid for it yet. I have a trade in that they gave me a value on with the condition I kept my vehicle under 65k mileage...so there's no way everything is all official.

Interested to hear some thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

There are a couple of different offers out there, so it's going to depend in which one you got.

One of them REQUIRES that you still own the car they think you own, which will be VIN specific.

I don't have enough information at this point to tell you if will be able to get the $1,500 off.

If you want to forward the email to me, along with your name, address and zip code I can probably figure it out for you.

If you call the GM Marketing number you can find out if you are elegible for any GM incentives. I called to today and got $1000 toward a camaro or $3000 toward a Vette. There is a manifest that all of the dealers can access toverify your elegibility.

Just called the number for GM Marketing and really got nothing. They did say they would send me some credit union stackable incentive but I'm doubtful it is anything really worth while, especially if its only on top credit union discount. Maybe there are some regional incentives.

PatsRS and Matty could you elaborate more on exactly what type of incentive you received?

The incentive I receieved was as a Pontiac owner. I guess GM feels bad or is trying to get us to upgrade. last year I used similar one for my Camaro. you have to be in their database as a GM owner in some way I guess.
