So just how long is it taking to get your Camaro?
From the time you order until you are able to get into it and drive it home, how long is it taking? And if I want mine to arrive next July, should I be putting in the order now? Just kidding but if it is going to take three to four months I am going to need to plan ahead.

See my sig. I was about 9 weeks to delivery. If your dealer has allocation for your order, it should take 8-10 weeks. Use the search button above and type in allocation, if you don't know what I'm talking about.....you will have hours of reading.

It is different for everyone, but you can safely expect to wait 2 to 3 months for a new order to be processed. There are several other threads on this topic, so feel free to search the forums.

By next July you will easily be able to walk into a dealer and find most any model/options you desire. I ordered in february and didn't move till june, had no allocation, finally moved middle of june, kept moving, and am currently waiting this week to get built and hopefully a few more till its in my driveway. The total time till I possess it is looking to be around 6 months which absolutely sucks but once i'm drivng it around it will all be forgotten.

I was at the dealership yesterday placing my order and I was introduced to a guy that got his last month. He ordered back in November. The guy that was working on my order at the dealer said that waiting times have been improving so. We'll see. If its 3 months I'll get mine in Oct. or Feb. for six.

I am in the process of ordering and waiting on a Camaro myself, and through various readings on this forum and talking to a lot of people who got theirs in 9 weeks, I've found that the single most important factor for how long it will take for you is: whether your dealership has allocation ready or not when you place the order.
If you can somehow find a dealer that can give you an immediate allocation, hopefully not for anything more than MSRP, you win. But if you're not in a hurry to get your Camaro, any old dealership who sells below or at MSRP is good and I doubt that it can take more than 6 months even in the worst situation, since GM is producing cars much faster now while the orders are inevitably decreasing over time. A lot of people, including myself, believe that in the months ahead of us, waiting for allocation will be obsolete since the GM factory won't be backlogged anymore. The only question is how many months from now that will happen. I hear that the allocation process is in the midst of 'changing' as we speak. |
