My Dyno tune numbers??

I just had my 2014 2SS LS3 dyno tuned today 9000 miles. I have stainless works 1 7/8 Lt headers No cats, Airaid mxp intake. She put down 426rwhp and 420rwtq.. (I'm aware these numbers are the exact numbers Chevy advertises at the crank) l watched the whole time I guess its just a big coincidence. But my question is after the tune I never went passed 428 peak rwhp 423rwtq. He said it could just be a bad batch of 93. It wasn't allowing the timing to go up at the peak. The lower rpms and up until peak got an average of 10rwhp. There was a knock I believe when he tried to increase the timing and he didn't want to force it. The car ran the same numbers every pull, never dropped after I believe 11 pulls. The car definitely seems to pull a lot harder now and sounds more crisp. And on the stock tune top speed in 1st was 52ish now it's 44ish. I'm just making sure everything is good. And he didn't raise the rev limiter. I'm very happy with the numbers I just thought they would be higher after a tune. Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

I have a 2011 2SS L99 with every bolt on you can get and I'm pulling 402 RWHP and 402 RWTQ so I'd say 426 is doing great! Now, the difference between L99 and LS3 happens to be 26 HP to the Crank so you're doing great with just those mods and a Tune!

Thanks for your response Don. I was just confused on the peak not getting any higher than on stock tune. But still very happy with the numbers. This morning on the way to work I had some clear roads and got to pull 1st to 48mph and when I got to work I realized I have a CEL now. With using a coworkers code reader, it's not throwing a code it's just a couple monitors. Hopefully this is just something small and not a big deal. I'll be calling the shop and asking them when they open.

You loose about 15% through the driveline. 426rwhp is close to 490 hp at the crank, which is where GM rates their cars.

That seems a little low on power to have 1 7/8" LT's and 93 gas. The '14's have less drag on the crank and usually put down better stock numbers than the previous models.

Not bad numbers any way you look at it, but it isn't what I'd expect to see on 93.

Any idea why your shift points were lowered? That doesn't make a lot of sense.

He couldn't get the timing any higher without knocking. At lower rpms I can definitely feel more power. He said it could just be some bad gas. I don't believe they were now, it just sounds like a raped ape now but I've seen 52-53 in first but didn't want to push it to the max, after I go back today and get the CEL cleared and monitors all in check, I'm gonna really get after it and see how things are. The rain has held me back also. What numbers have you seen 14s with these mods?

Your numbers are from the rear tires, if you multiply those number by 1.15 you will get your new Crank HP numbers to compare to stock Crank HP numbers.

Ted.

Thank you Ted! I'm impressed with those numbers! But maybe I wasn't completely clear, my car with the headers and intake on factory tune made 426rwhp & 420rwtq and after my custom tune I couldn't get those numbers up. If I made 426 to the wheels and I have a custom tune added I expect at least 8-10 on top of the 426?!

I have always said Parts make the Power, and tuning makes the parts work right.

Im ok with your RWHP numbers, but with those numbers im not sure why the conversasion of bad gas came into play.

Its not always about adding timing. When you reach your targeted AFR, you see how much timing the AFR will tolerate.

Your more than welcome to make up trip up to Tampa to have the calibration checked out if you not comfortable with it.

Phil

Correct LS3 m6, after the tune she had a lot more low end torque. At redline I could see 50-52 but after the tune I haven't really seen any higher than 49. I believe the HUD isn't fast enough to catch the 1-2 mph at the end.. maybe. But the car pulls harder and now that I've put 3 passes down with the tune its shaved off 4 tenths so far. Ran into clutch master cylinder problems (Chevy ordered me a new clutch pedal assembly). Im not bashing on the company that did the tune, therefor I won't state their name.

Ah ok.. you're just eyeballing it. It's probably fine. I don't think it changed on you . That's not something you can change unless you move the rev limiter down or mess with the gearing or wheel size.
