Replacing the "SS" on the rear with a "1/LE"
Have any of you done this, or thought about doing this?
On ebay, there's a beautiful 1/le logo for the rear and I thought about removing the SS and putting this in it's place. But I'm pessimistic about the process. What do you all think? http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-LICENSED-...89340d&vxp=mtr |

Nothing too unique about doing this (on this subforum) I don't think.
Plenty of pics and applications if you search emblempros on here, many have done this. I myself replaced the little rear SS with a 1LE emblem, but without the / , after the 1. Others have done with the /, it's personal preference. I've also replaced the rear Chevy bow tie, with a custom made SS emblem. Luv it ! |

I have no badges or letters at all now. I figure if people don't know, that is fine, I'm not advertising for something I paid for.

I only have 1LE logos on the hood like the ZL1. Buy from Emblem Pros, here on C5. No bowite on the Heritage grill No SS or 1LE on the grill. Black bowtie on the back. No SS or 1LE logos anywhere else.

love love love the pictures, post more if you got em!
From what I understand, you just blow on the area with a blowdryer on "hot" and use some floss to slowly slice off the back of the bowtie and SS logo. But i'm fuzzy on what to do after that. |

I replaced the chrome Camaro on the sides with 1LE emblems. I put 376CID on the hood cowling. I left the SS in the grill and on the deck lid. I put a 1LE on the Left rear corner of the deck lid. I thought about replacing the SS's, but decided not to. It is an SS after all...it cannot be a 1LE unless it is first an SS. Plus the seats kinda say it is an SS. LOL. So my car has more emblems now than when it came from the factory. I know some like no badging. I like more, just personal preference.
I swapped out my bow ties for body colored versions though. |

I didn't use heat. Just some fishing line and away you go. Use GooBeGone to clean up the residue left over.
