Very observant on the vid. With the new cam, the way it shifts and the way the torque converter locks up has changed. Between Darlington and my last run at Steele, I played with the tables. Basically I zeroed out the TCC Desired Slip tables. A couple of other little things, but that's the main thing. I'm still not completely happy with the Lockup for daily driving. Sometimes it slips too much at highway speeds (70-75mph), which is why my gas mileage has gone down 2-3mpg. But thanks for the props. I've been doing the step-by-step thing because it's a lot funner this way and I learn more. Plus, perhaps others will benefit. Padre |

Yes, I'm still running shorties!
We felt that Longtubes might improve the top end, which is the direction I'm going with this cam and upcoming supercharger. Plus, it's really really fun ringing this puppy out to 7000rpm now! It pulls and pulls. It would be very interesting to see what happens if I swap out Longtubes. It might be that I'm leaving very little on the table, or the LT's could really open it up. I'm inclined to the former - LT's might gain me ~10hp (guess). I'm thinking it might get me into the 119's, maybe 120. Padre |

Nice! Great gains, I have the DT Shorties on mine and I've been playing with a blower friendly cam when I bring the car out next year. Good to know someone has had some success and I won't put it in and gain 4hp
I would imagine you'd see bigger gains with LTs if you put the blower or had some heads on there. I'd think it would start to choke up at that point. My .02. Can't wait to see what you do next! |

With that, I have a FAST LSXr 102 Intake Manifold, which on SC'd cars does show 30hp or so. I also have the Nick Williams 102mm Throttle Body, which on centrifugal blowers may be of little or no benefit. Since I'm at 424rwhp now, I'm shooting for just 600rwhp with the SC setup. I want to be conservative till I get a feel for the car and what the bottom end can hold. We may also go with a gimmick on the SC, namely using a wastegate. GM High Tech had an article about it recently. Do a Google on "centrifugal blower wastegate" or click here for a scan. It may open up some very interesting options. We'll also be trying GM's ZL1 fuel pump option. Padre |

The trigger has been pulled on the ProCharger D-1SC through Atlanta Performance and Fabrication (John Lee).
:seesaw: Plan is to install it with a 41mm TiAL wastegate, Dual 255 Walbro, 80lb LS3 injectors. The wastegate will enable us to pulley-down for low-end power and keep the max boost at whatever we want, basically 8-9psi. Maybe even be able to put an electronic boost controller on it. Meanwhile, to sum up the thread so far: Padre |
