GM bulletin: HVAC system reprogram / rear spoiler repair / engine harness inspection

As reported on Homepage.

GM has issued the following service bulletin for 1) HVAC system reprogram, 2) rear spoiler fastening, and 3) engine harness inspection/repair.

The reprogramming of the HVAC system is to prevent HVAC evaporator freeze-up after extended highway drives. The rear spoiler service is to fasten the (sometimes loose) nuts used to attach the rear spoiler to the trunk kid, and only applies to VINs A9126194 or lower. And the engine harness inspection ensures that the heater hose clamps are not touching the harness bracket.

Though these are not recalls or critical services, it's suggested that if/when your car is in for service or maintenance, to have these services performed (if applicable).

Does that qualify as a 'recall', or is it just a service bulletin? Gotta be careful when tossing the 'r' word around. People blow things way out of proportion.

Any pics? If this is old, I must've missed it somehow. I didn't notice anything unusual when I had my fuse box open Just curious what exactly this is...

The part he took his car in for is not old news. I was refering to the recall he referenced.

OT, I get a smile when I see your username. I'm just glad you got your ride back.

Guess I'll add this to my list of things to bring mine in for. My VIN falls into the range for the HVAC update and I might as well have them apply loctite to the spoiler nuts. So far, the only thing I planned to bring mine in for is the PDIM update so my USB port works right all the time.

Well Ive got news for them, I've got a 29000 VIN range and those spoiler bolts were not very tight at all so I snugged them up a little

This is crazy! I just read this. My heater line actually got torn and I had to have my car towed in at about 1200 miles because of it. Radiator fluid was everywhere! Then I had to wait 1 month and a half on the heater line to come in. They never mentioned this.

So what is the VIN range? Is it number 1 through 136,648? Are they estimating that many to be produced with these issues?
