New jack pad

I have come up with a alternate way to make a jack pad.
Visit www.zl1addons.com
What I was thinking of just using the nylon part only and use a magnet to hold in place, it will be embedded in the nylon.. It would not have the bottom plate. That way you could use 4 and take to dealer also the cost may even be less.
Note: the magnet is to hold the pad in place to position the jack, Not intended to keep the pad on the car when done!

I will get a pic out soon. For all that have the jack pads, they can be used and modified easy.
Here is a video. http://youtu.be/aLRU_2eOBHE
We have them made. See here. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...17#post6454417

Here is what we plan to test and to make,

1 I was going to embed a magnet and you just put it up in the slot and it stays there.

2 the better way is to sell 4 that have set screws and you just let the pad stay on.

3. Use a thumb screw and then all you do is place the pad up in the slot, hold in place with thumb screw, the when done just remove. The thumb screw will hold it in place for you. Have a "Remove Before Flight" red streamer.

The thumb screw will make the pad less cost and would sell in sets of 2
Set screw would sell in sets of 4.

Need feed back thanks. And if they fit on other cars.
I have access to Mass production machinery.

Ok, what we will make now is the pads with a magnet embedded in it, so all you do is put in place and any jack or lift will work. Will have video and pics soon.

That will not work, it will bend the lower rocker trim. It is lower than the pinch weld.
Also what is the cost of that? I make the jack pad now with a base plate for less cost then this one.
I have a proto type now for the new one I will be selling and take the place of my older stile. Yes anyone that wants a new style and have the old one, will get it at cost.

Now I understand what you were talking about in the email. Looks good. I down for a set of whatever you come up with.

I still think you need to have an option for a shop though.

I'm still a little salty about my rockers getting fubar'd at the dealer even though I'm getting a set of ZL1 rockers out of the deal.

I appreciate all your efforts man.

The magnetic ones can be used by any shop with lift or floor jack.
With no bottom with sides bent down, they will fit any jack or lift.

I kinda think they need a plate to potect the car a little bit. IDK though. You are way more into this than I am.

I was thinking something that actually drops below the body line to put some kind of "buffer zone" between the lift arm and the body. Then again if it is too low it will make it hard to get the arms or jack underneath.

Keep it up though you are definatley onto the right track for a big need with these cars.
