Am I insane?
I'm new here so I thought I would break the ice by asking a question. I have a black 2012 Camaro 2SS RS that I purchased new in May of 2012. I just turned 5K miles today. I live in Michigan and it's a summer only second car so it's only on the road six months a year. Not only has the car never seen snow, it has also never seen rain. My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts. I'm starting to think it's silly too but now it has become a mission of sorts, to keep it from being driven in the rain. What do you think, is this insane? Is there anyone else out there that doesn't drive their car in the rain?

first of all, welcome to the site!
secondly, its your car and if you dont want it driven in the rain, dont do it lol. i however daily drive mine, if i had another mode of transportation id probably use it in bad weather as opposed to the camaro.

I haven't driven mine in the rain, but then I live in Phoenix where it almost never rains.

To each their own! But... for me the car is more fun when I drive it! for some, it's more fun to look at! No slight intended, it's yours, do with it what you want.

Welcome, and yes your are insane.
Join my nutty club, I have 6 vehicles and my Camaro is also a fair weather car only. I drive it at least once a week. I put about 4K miles on it a year.

I don't drive mine in the rain, neither! But it's my weekend car! I don't even go anywhere on the weekends never did! So I find a reason to drive!

I have no problems driving my cars in the rain. I haven't seen a car yet, melt and a little dirt and rain won't hurt it any. Also I don't see the point of keeping stored for the next guy.

Hello and Welcome. Your Not nuts. But I only avoid the snow and salt with mine. It will clean up. Your not far from me, I live in Howell, work in New Hudson. You should check out our local club at detroit5thgen.com and the Rodgers Camaro show the coming Saturday.
