Not sure that GM understands or cares.

After a great experience ordering and taking delivery of my Camaro the same dealer really "bombed" in the service department and it would seem that my not-so-great service experience isn't uncommon.
So when I received the GM questionnaire after my dealer visit here is how I responded.

"Certain vehicles are more important to their owners than others, i.e. Corvette, Camaro.
They are more for personal gratification than they are for basic transportation.
I do not think it is unrealistic to understand that owners of vehicles of this nature are more demanding than the average "Joe" or "Jane", any imperfection is less acceptable and the expectation of a higher level of service should be understood.
I believe it is obvious that not every service department can meet that expectation and XXXXX Chevrolet in my opinion is not a dealership I would recommend to any Corvette or Camaro owner at this time, it is unfortunate because their sales team did an excellent job.
The above may sound snobby or snide but, I am sure the average Cobalt, Malibu, or Tahoe owner does not get all the stares, thumbs-up, and positive comments that I do with my beloved Camaro SS.
GM is using this "car culture" love for sales but, you must preserve the positive experience beyond the sale."

Does anyone else feel the same way or am I whacky?

Sounds like my local GM dealer (I don't have a Camaro, but I have a different GM car). They have an excellent sales department, but not a very good service department.

I wouldn't blame GM. This has more to do with the personnel at the individual dealerships, and individual departments within the dealership. Some are great all around, some are not. Some are good in certain areas, and not so much in others.

Boil this all down to one perspective.

Before and after.

Funny, my Chevy dealer is the exact opposite. The service department is great but he sales guys don't know a Cobalt from a Camaro.

I can't say I feel that way about the Camaro since it hasn't been in for service yet, but, yeah, Chevy's service dept blew it big time when I owned my 2005 Monte Carlo. I almost swore off ever owning Chevy ever again because it was that bad.

Your right, that is snobby. What makes you think just because you own a camaro or a corvette that you deserve any better service than someone that owns a cobalt. Not everyone can afford cars like this ,but owning a Cobalt doesn't always mean they somehow don't care about it. My buddies boy has an SS Cobalt ,and he has a lot of passion for it. He takes as good of care of it, if not better care, then anybody I know with very expensive cars.
I can tell you, I'm sure when he gets it service he wants it treated with respect and done well just as much as anybody with a more expensive car.

My traverse cost $8,000 more than my camaro did. So does that mean that I should get better service when I take it to the dealer as opposed to when I take the camaro in? No it doesn't.

To me a good service dept it one that respects everyone's vehicles the same and gives the same level of service no matter what type of car it is.

Dealerships live or die by their service satisfaction ratings. When you blow them out of the water on a questionare(sp) there is not a lot of incentive for them to be on your side.

Sorry, but if you think you deserve special treatment just because you own a Corvette or Camaro, then you're sadly mistaken.

Why do you hide their name with "XXXXX" ? If your service really was that poor, then F'em, let the community know who they are. If not then why even bring it up?

Your dealership does not represent GM. Each dealer is independent. They are not franchises. They are not corporate-owned. They are independent small businesses with their own customer service issues. GM is a completely separate entity.

Keeping all of that in mind, your dealer is an idiot, although you are not in a position to demand special service based upon the car you drive.
