The GT isn't built by Ford. The GT is built by Multimatic. The Camaro was built by GM in Canada. Completely different situations.

What's the failure rate? How does it compare to other similar engines? These are extremely important details that are left out completely. Something that a decent journalist would probably try and find out. But the author of that article, according to the profile supplied on the site, 'was raised on top gear', went to work for a pharmaceutical company (no mention of what capacity ... though probably not the bio-chem research lead), became a blogger, and spends his free time 'looking for ways to destroy his savings account and skip student loan payments'. So not the best of journalistic credentials.

An actual decent article on that subject would not only provide figures for context, but would provide an explanation as to the cause as well. Not 'car big, engine small ... so engine melts' like this clown did.

Also, he doesn't seem to like GM or the Cruze much. In one of his other stellar articles on that site, he says he was "victimized by a Chevy Cruze". How, you might ask? Well, its reverse light was on while it was parked. And he wanted that parking spot. So he waited, for 15 seconds! Imagine that, 15 whole seconds. He parked somewhere else, checked out the car and saw that it was off and nobody was in it ... costing even more time. The whole thing must have added like an entire minute, maybe even two, to his trip to Wegmans. I'm surprised he even had the courage to write a 350 word blog article about his victimizing experience.

Anyway, my point is always be critical of sources. Look for details -if there aren't any, there's probably a good reason why they weren't included. Keep an eye out for possible bias -even the best of journalists have some bias in their pieces, its just that bloggers have an awful lot more (and the ones that claim to only give 'the straight truth' are the worst of them all). And not just on pieces you disagree with -thats the easy. Do it for the stuff you agree with too -thats how you stop BS from spreading.

What a crock of shiznuts, the Cruze doesn't even use the 1.5T. It has the 1.4T LE2.

You would think I would have replaced one if that's the case. I've changed a bunch of turbos and water pumps though.

No, it's not tomato tomato. It's shoddy journalism and poor research, plain and simple.

Difference is the Corvette is made in Kentucky by USA workers whereas the GT is made in Canada, by a different company. Argument isn't about the Camaro and Challenger. Not calling it a Canadian car, but it certainly isn't as American as the Corvette, which is what that comparison is over. I understand this is what happened with the original GT as well...

2017 and 2018 MY Ford GT's were singled out for previous Ford GT (the 2005/2006) owners. 2019 is for people who were passed over in the first wave and then 2020 is for new customers.

Still doesn't change the fact that those who can easily afford the car aren't being given the chance until a later date or not at all. This is a very Ferrari thing to do, limiting who can and cannot buy the car. It isn't an Enzo, do not limit the possible owners.

This guy is an angry tool. If another car other than the Ford GT's had been winning (let's just make up some fantasy Porsche that has a cost of $225,000) He'd want to make some rule saying that for every $10,000 over $100,000 MSRP you'd have to add 20lbs of weight "to make things fair".
Not going to argue that the author isn't an 'angry tool' as you suggest. The car was designed to run at Le Mans, and run well it did. I will say that the winning car should have received a drive-thru penalty for the yellow zone speeding. Clear safety violation, should've been handled in a more timely manner. The complaints from Ford over the Risi leader board not working come across as childish to me, but that is my personal opinion. Obviously it still gave Ford the win by issuing the complaint so I guess that's a good way to win a race...

Lots of sources saying PSA has finalized the deal to buy Opel.

Bittersweet, as a lot of great cars have been sourced from GM Europe. But it'll be good for everyone's bottom line at the end of the day.

Not sure, it's probably going to be Opel's last hurrah as a GM division.

Official. Opel/Vauxhall are no longer a GM subsidiary.
