I just got my K&N typhoon for my LS3. I am going to install it tomorrow... hopefully lol I have never done any "under the hood" stuff myself so we will see how it goes. I got the one with the chrome tubing though and I payed $175 so beat that!

so from the looks on the K&N site, this intake doesnt come with a sensor in the side... is that true? If thats the case, that would probably explain the cost difference... did you have to use your stock sensor?

Not knocking it, just asking some questions. I think it looks good...

I just realized that there is 2 different ones, the aircharger which is what the OP posted and the typhoon which is the one I have. Whats the difference?

dunno... I just know that this little statement pisses me off!

This intake system is not legal for street use in the following states:

Arizona, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington

I cant/wont be able to pass smog with this CAI... and if K&N doesnt pass, then I am 99% sure none of the others will either. I guess I can save the OEM stuff and swap it out when its time, but what a PITA.

Nothing is legal here in California so I really don't care haha I am just keeping the stock one so when I get smoged I can switch them out or try and pay off the smog guy

I always thought that the engine bay is part of the car. It gets cleaned everytime the car gets cleaned.

wow still talking about cleaning an engine bay? I thought this was a thread about K&N CAI? I think this thread needs to be moved to WASH and Detailing Section.

With all that dirt in your engine bay it will now be in your engine with a K&N air filter. Take it out and simply look at that filter. See all those holes in it? How much filtering does a hole do? How much dirt do you think your engine will like to eat. Think about it for just 10 seconds.
