Water from my exhaust

I noticed about 3 or 4 months back that water was dripping from my right side stock exhaust "can", out the little hole. Today, I had a muffler delete, when the tech cut the stock muffler off, a good bit of water splashed to the ground as he walked away with it. I thought OMG that can was filled up! The Tech was surprised to but didn't say much else. I assumed he wasn't to concerned with this? So I let it go as well. Well, tonight after letting it run in my friend's driveway, I notice a lot of water coming from the same right side again. So, I'm wondering what is going on here. Is this bad? The car's temps look normal and it's running fine. What would cause the build up of water in the first place? Anyone else experience this (I've seen some ppl here mention it, but no one went into detail about it).

Thanks

Even in this ZL1 exhaust preview, there is a lot of water splashing out.

All exhausts will have water coming out of them, it's part of the engine's waste, completely normal. The stock mufflers on these cars happen to hold a good bit of water because of the design/shape. Nothing to worry about.

Okay, cool I thought so because of the design of the muffler but that just looked incredibility odd to me lol. I wonder if GM designed it on purpose so the water would rust the mufflers faster so you'll have to buy new ones every 2 or 3 years? Marketing ploy?

LOL

Thanks guys!

Owners have to make sure that the small holes are cleaned and kept opened. But no one speaks about that at the dealership....

Running you car for short periods of time will allow water to build up...running it longer and letting it fully warm up will help to avoid that
