GM Bypassed 50k Camaro Built - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

According to Spasticsquirrel, GM has just bypassed the 50,000 mark on 2010 Camaros built. And to note - there has been no major problems or complaints.

My hats off to the guys of Oshawa for a job well done, to GM for designing a spectacular car for them to build and to all the people that have purchased a 2010 Camaro.

For a first year production those are great numbers - keep up the great work !!

50,000 Camaros built, and I've only seen 3 or 4 on the road. And the Mustang, which has sold less, I have seen everywhere.

I guess it's a SoCal thing.

I think it definitely is. I think I've seen maybe 6 besides the one 2LT I sat in at Felix Chevy near USC. I was just telling my ex-girlfriend the other day how 2010 Camaro's are outselling Stangs and Challengers by leaps and bounds but I still see far more of those on the roads. I was pissed because I hadn't seen one on the road and my ex and my now-ex (long story) were sending me camera phone pix of Camaro's they were seeing. SoCal is officially Stang territory I guess.

Good thing is it looks like even with the economy in the tank GM will get out the 80K the needed to in the (extended) first model year to recoup all of their development costs... that means a better Camaro for me in 2012 (45th anniversary Z/28)!!

Mine was being built last week, I wonder if mine was # 50K. That would be cool. I wonder what the vin would say if it was.

Give it time. Every day I'm seeing a few more Camaro's in my area. I saw two different black Camaro SS's this week on my way to work.

I believe there were only around 50k, 04-06 GTO's combined ever made. So there's already (in less that 1 year) more Camaro's on the road than late model GTOs.

Last few months I would be lucky have seen 2, now there everywhere, it's like they all hatched this fall...good re-sale deals to be had next year to the abundance of these once rare cars..

But everyone here drives benzes or BMW's anyway.

If your VIN ends in 50001 then it would the 50,000th one.

#1 is first built. #2 is 2nd built. 50,000 is 50,000th built
