bought it brand new, my regret: not getting wheels and big tires as part of the deal.

Yes you should get the back up camera ("rear vision package" on the 1SS). It will remove a lot of pain in garages, your driveway etc. If you have little kids its a must have. Visibility is hard out of the rear because of the high trunk. I use it all the time.

No regrets on the Camaro. Best car I have ever owned.

Thanks for your opinions everyone! It is much appreciated.

I'm just gonna have to take the next day or so and really think it over. If I decide the rear camera is necessary then Crystal Red or Red Hot will be my choice. If not, Blue Velvet it is (best looking 1LE color combo next to black imo).

I actually live in a quiet neighborhood where I always get easy parking in front of my house and get to work usually early so I'm able to choose my spot first there as well. It's just those rare moments when I have to venture out with no choice to busy places and have to find parking in crowded lots or a street in the city that make me question this decision really lol.

That's funny because I have a driveway actually but rarely use it because I usually always scrape my Accord going down it. I cannot imagine what it would do to the front splitter

I guess if I had to choose between getting the color I really wanted and a backup camera, I would forget the camera. If the color isn't that big a deal, I'd say go for it. I do wish mine had a backup camera.

the dealer should be able to install it. I almost bought a 10 and they were going to install it. It was $700 but it included the mirror with the monitor as there was no mylink at the time

Basic rule of thumb, if you're having to have the car delivered (meaning, the dealer doesn't have it or it's not local), then get EXACTLY what you want. I gave my dealer a very detailed list of what I wanted and, just as important, what I didn't want. He had to look 300 miles away in Texas but he found the exact car I was after.

As for the backup camera specifically, I never really new I wanted it until I had it. Now I feel "unprotected" when I drive another car that doesn't have the backup camera.

It depends on you. While many are telling you will be fine without it, that may not be the case. Only you know. I have ZERO depth perception. I would be constantly hitting stuff without it. When I didn't have a camera, I would get out of my car multiple times to check and see if I wasn't hitting anything. I would be like 3 feet away! Yes, my weakness as a driver. I know that. Now I'm using technology as a crutch to cover up my weakness. Love my camera!

You can always get an aftermarket back up camera. Some of them are very nice units.

I didn't think I would like or use the HUD on the car either, but now that I have them, I miss them when I use my other vehicles. I love having the Rear View Camera and use it all the time, I can't imagine NOT having it.

Just use your mirrors. When I bought my car I got used to the visibility quickly.
