Hey Edrock, I think I will go the same route. I am waiting for the exhaust shop to hit me back with price. I know the mufflers are priced at $79, how much do you guys think it would cost to delete the resonators and to install the mufflers. Also does it matter if the mufflers inlet/outlet is off centered, centered etc. Sorry for all
the questions but I'm a newb when it comes to
this exhaust stuff and I want to
make sure it's done right.

I went with offset in/ center out, but wont' know for sure till I can test fit it. Probably $200 or so to delete resonators and swap mufflers. Good luck.

I'm thinking about doing 40 series in line with the stock pipes (I've got a couple of 2.5" center in/out 40's that I'm not using at the moment).

I'll probably eliminate the stock resonators, leave the H-pipe, and plan on some mid-length headers down the road.

The only difference between this setup and the exhaust on my 67 LS1 swap is the Cats. I'm sure they will quiet it down a little bit, but that LS1 sounded down right evil without Cats.

Cool. Can't wait to hear it!!

I'm thinking more in the $300 range for the muffler swap. Don't know about the resonator delete. I am getting my work done at Merican Muffler here in Greensboro, NC and when I talked to him last, he has not done a 2010 Camaro yet and I might be the first one. He was very helpful and recommended the Super 44s and threw out a ballpark figure in the $300 range stipulating that it all depends on what it will take to do the job and which muffler would fit etc. Did not ask about resonator delete. Guess it is legal right? I know you can't touch the CATs but resonators are fair game I would think. With the res. delete, I'm guessing more like $400. Even so, that is a hell of a lot cheaper than any CAT-back system out there...and I like the "H" pipe config over the "X" pipe config anyway. The exaust system from GM is already pretty sweet...I just want to enhance it a bit.

I'm taking mine to Scotties Muffler Shop
here in Winston Salem, it will be his first 2010 he had done. He told me he can get the the 44's for 150 a piece plus $25 a piece to swap them out. I ordering mufflers fr summit racing for $79 a piece. Also my exhaust guy said he had to take a look at my system b4. He could give me estimate for the resonators delete.

The dual Flowmaster car sounds pretty much like the LM2.

I kinda wanna duplicate this sound.

Oh yeah! I've seen this before. This is my all time favortie!!! The only problem for me is that this car has Long Tube headers, high flow CATs and such....mods I'm not willing to do. Not that I am some "Dudley Do Right" kind of guy but just don't want to worry about not passing inspection and such, then having to pay fines and the money to become legal again to pass inspection. Yeah, I might get away with it but to me, it is not worth the hassle. That GTO sure is a healthy helping of ear-candy though...

You sure it has LT's? The owner doesn't specify:

"It's a 2005 GTO, manual, 6.0L LS2. Exhaust setup is Dynomax headers and cats, 2.5" custom plumbing w/an H-pipe and regular flowmaster 40s. Those were the only mods on the car at the time, made about 350 at the wheels...after an A/F tune, car makes about 390 at the wheels."

Well, good point. Gues I should not assume that "Dynomax headers" automatically mean LTs...
