Your Thoughts On...
There seems to be three crowds on the Z28.
1. Stripped down for performance. 2. Don't price it too high. 3. Make it all things to all, who cares about the price. I've always wanted a brand new 1969 Z28, but was too young to buy one. As my forum name implies this is my 2cnd Chance. But I don't/won't spend CRAZY money for it. This and the fact that others feel like me, while yet others (self included) don't want a luxury 2 door CTS-V. This leads me to propose that the Z28 should be offered not as a stripped down race car, but base it with few bells and whistles. Then offer luxo packages as upgrades. The base car should be very performance oriented, but not sans sound deadening, or have crazy low gearing that sacrifices gas mileage, etc. By doing this it allows these two groups to join in, one that wants a base race car and the other that just wants to be able to afford one. The guy/lady that has $50,000. to blow on a car will only have to option it out to the max. Do this and you will sell a lot more of them! |

I would say just give it a healthy options list to where if people want it stripped down, it can be and if they want it loaded to the gills it can be that too.

Hello!
|
Loaded it should cost no more than $50K...base around $42K and I think you have an audience to sell the car to.
I don't think that happens though...I think $48K base and upwards of $60K loaded. Look at all of these special packages out now...most after base price are running $50K to $70K and some as much as $100K (LS9 Camaro). I think GM will miss the boat...I wish they wouldn't, but too much has been made about the Z28 and in the end, it'll be an overpriced, under performing Camaro. My thoughts and I hope I'm wrong! |

Here's my two cents on the whole Z28- when it's built I'll believe it's going to happen. Right now all we have is a lot of talk. Until it's built, I'm not putting a lot of thought into the car.
I do expect it to run with the Mustang Cobra, so if they do build it, I think you'll see something performance wise that is similar or just a pinch better than the Mustang. |
