The Brembo swap can be done for a lot less than you might think. I bought used fronts, brand new rear CTS-V calipers ($122/ea), painted them all red, added R1 rotors and goodridge lines. Put the whole kit together and well under $1K. I waited until things were on sale and jumped on them. All the CTS-V calipers are cheap brand new.

Do you know if the Brembo stuff will fit under the stock 18" wheels? Planned on using them for winter duty... That is my big concern

That I am not sure- I am running 19's while waiting for the MRR's to come in... tight fit. It may be possible if you don't run pads with weights on them like the stock ones in front with the "roller skates" sticking out. I know some people have run 18's with Brembos but I don't know if they were stock wheels or not. I'm hoping I can fit some stock steel 18's with snow tires on mine. Don't plan to drive in snow, but it has to be ready to roll in case of an emergency while being stored.

Dang. Might have to hold off until I get another set of winter wheels that will fit

I guess I'll finish up the stereo the. Start working on suspension

Also, talking with IPF Tuning about getting a supercharger setup as well

Stereo is going to have Hertz Hi Energy 165XLs in the doors, Hertz Hi energy 6.5's in the rear deck, and a single 10" Hertz Hi Energy DVC sub powered by a Hertz HDP 5 channel amplifier

No I don't think that the CTS-V calipers will not fit in 18 inch wheels. You need to upgrade your wheels to 20 inch wheels. Time to look for another winter setup if you want to go that route. I think that the CTS-V calipers are 6 pistons. If you want to upgrade to even SS calipers which are 4 pistons you need to upgrade the wheels as well. If you want to get the stopping power then you need upgrade the wheels.

You should have flushed it and upgraded to DOT4. It would have been a lot easier to get your fluids out. I haven't installed it yet. I am going to hopefully install my Catch Can and clutch resrvoir kit tomorrow.

The CTSV front calipers in the 6 piston version are gigantic, but the 4 piston version front and rear are the same size as SS calipers

The car is an in town car for now. And had 2000 miles on it. Fluid is still clean

When I switch to the big brakes I will look at doing that then.

Probably hold off till next year then on the big brakes. I just got my SS wheels. Can't afford to get another set and winter tires at the moment.

Looks like the 1LE suspension package will not fit unless I have Brembos too....

DAMNIT.

So looks like i need to start stockpiling parts and start hunting for another set of winter wheels and tires.

Purchased a full set of front/rear Brembo SS brakes for $650 today.

Will have to wait to install them till i figure out what I am doing for my winter wheel/tire setup.

Nice

If I were you I would stay with the 20 all year round and then just change the tire setup for the winter. and then see what wheels you really like and save for them and see if you can have 2 sets of wheels/tires
1 for the winter
1 for the rest of the year

Had the stock mufflers cut off and welded up today. Sounds good! Need to get the X pipe in though. But i love the sound it puts off now. Sounds like a Euro Super Car!

Special thanks to TheBracketeer for the fire extinguisher mount. Looks good, mounts up solid, and hopefully will never have to use it!
