Does a tree falling make a sound?
Yes, but it's just me sobbing...
Any guesses on damage estimate for the Camaro? |

Totaled. Hold off til winter then put a match to it. Keep you warm for awhile. Roast some wieners on the Lincoln.
Camaro? No clue, New Driver side Fender, trunk deck, maybe hood? Windshield, fix the roof. My guess? $7-8000

Doubt if the Camaro will be totaled, Lincoln is a different story.

Last I checked, the "value" on the Camaro was only like $7k private (it's only an LS)... So it's gonna be a close call.
I kinda want it fixed, since I just put new tires on, headers, and a full tank of gas... But I'm also afraid of how it's going to be after repair (been through this before on a different car). But yeah, hopefully insurance takes care of everything... And home insurance takes care of the garage. |

Easy fix.....that'll buff right out.
Sorry, couldn't resist. Both are total losses. Living in hurricane alley I've seen hundreds of nice cars with tree damage, including some of mine. Insurance companies will write them off especially when they're facing, in the case of a windstorm, hundreds of claims from owners. Remember too that there's only so many body shops aroind. They can not handle the huge amount of work caused by a natural disaster. That means prices of labor and parts goes up. Moreover, if like most folks you have a rental car endorsement on your policy, the insurance co. will be facing another $300ish a week to provide the owner a rental. You factor all the above and it's just makes economic sense for the ins. co to total it. Just consider yourself fortunate that the tree didn't land on your house, possibly injuring you or a loved one. Good luck and as another member said, enjoy your new Camaro. |

Duct tape and bailing wire, maybe a little bondo. Sorry this happened to you but I couldn't resist. My guess would be totaled but you wont know for sure until an adjuster looks at it. I had the front bumper on my car replaced and it came out to over 3k so again I'm thinking totaled.

unfortunately that looks like 15k damage or more. I had my quarter panel replaced along with some suspension and it was over 8k

A *lot* of Bondo... Lol
Yeah, everyone is ok... Though if the wind was blowing the other way, it would have got the house and I was in the office at the time, which is the room on the garage side. Not 100% sure, since I haven't heard anything official yet, but I'm thinking this was one of those "microbursts." |

Feel for you. Hurricane Ivan dropped a huge limb on our 75 Vette and busted windshield and damaged windshield frame. 1 year latter Katrina dropped another tree on her and finished the job. Sold the wreckage to my neighbor for $100. Still miss her!

I'm 99% sure it'll total if it's a 2011 LS.
If it were me I'd hope it totaled because I wouldn't want A/M parts on my car but wouldn't want to go out of pocket to pay the difference for OEM.
