75% is quite a significant statistic. Perhaps you meant to say 7.5%. edit: My point is that you make it seem as though there were a LOT of upgrades in the first place. It was sway bars, springs, and bushings (AFAIK). The springs and bushings were dropped for 2000, but thanks to Y2Y, this was easily remedied. However, those two components were not 75% of the suspension on the f-platform.

Here's the link to the CZ28.com thread (was dead in the LS1tech link):

There was a difference in shocks also as I've had a set of 1998 SS shocks & struts and 2001 SS shocks & struts. The newer cars used a much bigger shock/strut body versus the older cars. And yes I'm comparing the OE DeCarbons to each other not the Bilsteins. So all in all I consider going from everything being different to just swaybars 75%.

There are, and they've really held their value.

So i went and got it, 2001 SS, Black on Black, leather, loaded, Monsoon (not impressed) system, Ttops, Hurst shifter, only 37k miles, only 4k since 2003, really good shape, came with a 100k mile powertrain warranty (aftermarket type) for $13,000. I thought it was a pretty good deal. I see the WU8 code on my door, can anyone decipher what all these other codes are? Thanks in advance.

Add a proper set of speakers (match the ohms/power level to the amp) and the system will come alive. Is it going to sound like a 1k watt full aftermarket setup. No, but it will sound a lot better than the stock paper/crappy speakers.

I have the following...
Doors: 6.5" Infinity Kappa co-axial 2 Ohm.
Rear Seats/Sail Panels: 6.5" Kicker Subwoofers, 2 Ohm
Hatch: 4" Pioneer co-axial 4 ohm.

Sounds great for a less than 250.00 upgrade. The whole dynamic range in sound is greatly improved.

I don't know about anyone else here, but the people who swear you don't need the hatch speakers, I think they're off their rockers or they have no idea how much you really hear them no matter what speakers are in the doors. (Maybe their super short and sit way close to the steering wheel???)

THIS.

I ahve been looking and they are everywhere with 5000-35000 miles. And rpices from 24000 to about 17000..... Seemslike a lot for a 10 year old car when you can get a 2010 ss with 10-20k miles for around 28...

Hell aren't LS Trans Ams in general holding their value on average over Camaros?

Congrats! Looks like a very clean car. Definitely priced right, too. From browsing your RPO sticker, it appears as though you have nothing out of the ordinary. There weren't many options for these cars, anyway. The main things I look for are absence of NW9 and any Y2Y options. I do find it odd you don't at least have the Y2Y RPO as many cars from 2000+ had it by default for last minute SLP additions.

But then you have a Camaro. Of all the late model Pontiacs, the LS1 Trans Am is going to be the most sought after, IMO.

I would agree, especially since the 5th gen has been out. There will never be another Firebird, and they were really the epitome of over-the-top Pontiac styling (sans the Bonneville SSEi of the same vintage).
