lol - gotta get these and the Roadster66 amp sold before I can do most of it... which is the only way I am going to be able to sidestep the wife being pissed. lol

enclosures are 100.00 each - (155.00 from ******** new)

the Roadster66 is 800.00 - immaculate limited edition #11 of 500 (10/10 cosmetic, 10/10 functional) - if the Roadster would fit with the new design, I would still be using it, its incredibly powerful, beautiful and sounds incredible

I will sell the whole trunk-package that I had in my car including the amp rack, amp, trim plate, sub enclosures and the 1/0 ga wire to the battery for 1000.00 (everything but the subs, I am going to keep them)

Topdown - are you utilizing the battery tub for the sub or going with shallow mtg. subs?

I hear you on the shallow subs - though I did briefly consider this as an option for locating in the back seat sides. Just not where I wanted to be from an SQ perspective.
The battery tub has sufficient volume - it's just a matter of the depth of the sub and the subsequent positional requirements to clear the enclosure. Hence the reason for the angled position of my configuration.
Look forward to the build log.

exactly.

right now the plan is to use the wheel well, one sub on either side, similar to yours, but with two subs, slightly taller, on either side... hard to articulate, but the drawings and the picture in my head look ... fun. lol

That's the way I operate - very rarely do I sit down and draw something out (though I can). I usually assess the situation and spend time mulling over the options, formulate the plan in my head and dive in.
FYI - I used Knytex DBM 1808 • Wt: 25.3 oz/sq yd for most of the layup followed with standard mat for additional reinforcement. The Kyntex is nice to work with.

Knytex is great stuff... in the past I have used a thinner (17oz) sandwich with chop in the middle, seems to work out really well for me, is quick, really strong (that sandwich is almost always enough to hold my 250lbs without flexing) and the pre-finished surface doesnt take as much effort to sand/fill/primer/paint to get nice results. then a bondo/resin slurry for the inside and outside - let it "self-level", sand it smooth and your ready for high-build primer. for the top forms, I am going to try using swimsuit material this time around, most material sags with the weight of the resin before it hardens if you dont get it tight enough, which inevitably happens somewhere. I am hoping that this material will help prevent that without soaking up a gallon of resin like felt. if nothing else, it will be fun.

I also think this time around, I am going to machine the rings with the CNC at work, so I dont have to router them out by hand.
