Dyno Sheets for ZR1 to GT9 cam swap

So here's the final dyno sheets from the cam swap Brian at Laramie GMAC did for me. Perfect install I had rescheduled dyno tune with Mark for next week due to snow, then saw forcast called for snow again! Needless to say I ended up going and the car was washed in the street today - after shoveling the 5" of snow

I've got the full version of EFI live from LPE now and can data log, email tunes, multiple tunes, etc. Both Lingenfelter and RMCR use it, so works out great. Cool to check it out, but I'll leave changes to the pros. I'm happy with the numbers.... I figure LPE rear end probably cost about 25 HP, but well worth it. Check out how much the TQ and HP ranges were extended. 91 Octane tune

* pully on both dynos was 2.75, not 2.95 as noted - so front pully is maxed.

Only lost .11 lbs of peak boost (was expecting more with the cam specs)
dyno was at 6035 elevation - thanks for still fitting me in Mark!

Stopped at Zookies Frozen Yogurt on the way back and visited with Kirk and Julie. Really nice place and yummy yogurt flavors Hopefully weather cooperates for next Saturday's Grand Opening and our club members

Also spoke with Larry just a few minutes ago - things are going well with his new job at Haliburton. Looks like a friend of Derek's will be on his crew.

Ok not to try and start anything but what did Larry have different that he got over 800 hp.I know he backed it down a bit to a less radical tune but Garth could you also get up around 800 rwhp? Is it just you have a milder tune?

Pretty sure Larry had a seriously high compression motor (like 13.2 or sumn) running on Ethanol... I could be wrong, but I think that's what he had. I'm sure he, or Garth, will chime in to verify or dispute that.

Larry had CORN JUICE, now he's back to Dino fuel, 91 Octane and more gas stations! E-85 can tuned for alot more, but a pain for cruising.

Well let's see..... Brian has been teasing me with nitrous, I've been checking out Nick Willliam's 102mm throttle body's, the Maggie's not maxed out yet (rear pully's haven't been changed), dual high octane tunes, and there's talk of a bigger TB... maybe 107mm, and I'm contemplating a quick 2 hour drive to Lingenfelter from Cincinnati. What was the question???? ....... I was busy daydreaming

Ooh.... almost forgot Rocket Boosters, high end trailer hitch, and Huge Snow Tires so I can keep up with Chris and Tom this winter.

Hey guys... I'm still around, working on some Vette's lately.

Finished Walhan's ZO6 recently 441 Darton Sleeved LS7 Block by RED.
Put down 615 RWHP N.A.

Finishing up a 08 ZO6 this Week, 434 LSX Block with Vortech Blower and N20 Assist. Should north of 900 RWHP easy.

But to answer the question at hand, Larry was at 738 RWHP if my memory is correct, with E85 Tune. Went to 91 pump gas and a more conservative tune only and is around 650 RWHP now I believe.

Hope everyone is well !!!

Clint

Larry had a 418 Stroker LS3 and 10.2 to 1 compression.

Garth is a 377 LS3 Compression unknown, perhaps around 9.5 to 1.

Joe has a 377 LS3 Compression 9.7 to 1, he hit 811 RWHP if thats who your refering too.

Not too hard to hit 650 RWHP with a Maggie, Garth should be able to put some more power down if he does the pulley swap in the rear.. Running a 3.4" pulley on the Maggie, this car hit 650 WHP and 607 RWTQ with a Stock LS3 & Cam only, w/7-8psi of boost, also ran pretty good at the track with a 11.8 at 118mph with just DR to help..

http://youtu.be/xuaSv2V6Rl8

Just installed a new Clutch, Axles, rear Suspension upgrade, and freshened up the tune further, Also went back to a 3.8" pulley as the car is being shipped out to Qatar now, and with the 3.8" pulley will be around 7 psi at sealevel, Was only seeing 4 to 5 here in denver with that pulley.

Have a good night.

Thanks Andy

Clint's compression #s are pretty close - good memory. At time of forged internals, the compression was lowered from the stock 10.7:1 to 9.67:1 to handle boost safer.

From what I've read, Janetty is saying stroked engines pickup about 1.5 HP per extra cubic inch.... so approx 60 HP on a 417 stroker. Maggie rear pully upgrade option is from 3" x 3", to 3.5" x 3" (so spins 16.66% faster)

Larry's at 621 RWHP 648 RWTQ, but I'm not out to beat anybody's #s. I was just ready for the next leap.... jump out of warranty with LT headers, bigger blower cam & my own heart monitor (EFI live) ..... Plus I could sense Brian missed me
