Why using a torch....

....to remove roofing isn't such a good idea. I know it's used, but when those doing the work aren't skilled enough....

I just picked my brother up, who worked in that building. He was out on a break when the fire started, and he's fine, THANK GOD.

Dang, Ed! I'm glad he's okay too! Glad to know everyone got out alive. Speaking of fires, we went to a burn unit here (BAMC) in SATX on Mon. Boy, did I learn a lot about burns and therapy. It was a real eye opener...

Thanks guys.

Fortunately, everyone got out of the building safely. We may be heading back to his former building to pick up his Jeep. I'll post pics. if we take any.

Well, the story as best I know is, an employee hired the guys who were working on the roof. According to my brother and some of his coworkers who I met when we went to see what was left, the workers arrived in a beat up Chevy van, with their sign being one of those magnetic ones.
(CRAZY!) Looks like the ee in charge of hiring the roofers chose the "cheap route".

It was sad to see what was left, and I don't even work for the company. :(

I really don't know what to say...other than sorry for not asking about your brother in my first post, I was just shocked that a couple of idiots would do something like that! Accidents happen, but come on!

You know that's the problem with our country, if it could be nailed down, no body wants to pay for anything, it's all got to be cheap. My philosophy is, "If you want something, your going to have to pay for it. And don't complain afterwards, either."

Again, glad your brother's okay. I act like an ass to my siblings sometimes, but I don't know what I'd - never mind.....

No reason to apologize bud.

And I couldn't agree with you more. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to a member of my family.

Sometimes we just need a little "eye opener" to realize and appreciate how much our families mean to us.
