Hey guys, just noticed this thread. I'm new here and thought for sure I'd be the "old man" of the forum, I'm 57. Nice to see a lot of folks from my vintage here sharing our love for 'Merican muscle!!!

You got a long way to go to have that honor. And us older ones getting a year older same as you every year. Long as we stay alive you'll never catch up. And for me I'm already 16 years older than you.
But your still more than welcome here anytime.

Welcome Joecruiser! I am a bit younger than you.

Later today (10/8) I'll be flying back to AZ. Spent most of my time here in Maryland at the Endless Summer Cruise event in Ocean City, MD. Used to go every year when I lived here. Anyway, met up with tons of my cruising buddies and we all had a great time. Even hung out at our old hang out, but it was nothing like it used to be. No big deal, as we all got to hang one more time.

A buddy lent me his '70 Chevelle Malibu which performed flawlessly the entire trip. Got lots of looks too.

Seems like this whole forum is slowly dying...... not much participation for whatever reasons......

How was the Police Presence at the Ocean City cruise? I am in PA and have heard lots of nasty things about how they are cracking down on the car stuff down there, basically bullying car people for whatever stupid reason they can come up with to make money.

I actually saw more daily drivers and residents pulled over than cruise participants. One daily driver was stopped in front of our rental house for driving at night without headlights turned on.

Some of my friends brought some bad ass cars down and were not stopped. As long as you behaved and did not give law enforcement a reason to stop you, they did not.

Most of these cruisers are registered as antique or street rods, so the typical safety inspection criteria does not apply. However, LEO's can still stop you and write the inspection ticket. I am familiar with this type of registration in the state of MD, but I do not know how it would affect out of state participants.

The rumor of LEO's at every corner stopping every cruiser they possibly can is not true.

Thx ragtop...I feel kinda youngish all of a sudden.☺

69Supersport, Thx for those links..lots of nice cars. I'll check them out closely tomorrow. It's almost midnight here and past my bedtime!

BTW, my wife and I spent a month on vacation in AZ, NM, CO and Vegas.

We flew in to Phoenix on 8-6-18 and spent 4 days in Peoria!
It was 122 degrees the next day, news said it was the hottest day on record for that date.
We spent time in Tempe, Scottsdale, Tuscon and hiked the Lost Gold Mine trail in the Superstition Mtns.

I love AZ, been there many times. This was our retirement trip...we hot air ballooned in Sedona and Pink Jeep the Broken Arrow Trail.

Spent a few days boozing and partying in Jerome...lovely town. Its atmosphere reminded me of Key West.

We muled the canyon, spent a night in the Phantom Ranch. Basically we did it all!

I rented a 2018 Camry at the new rental car bldg. in Skyharbor, really nice facility.

2 weeks later I partially tore off the rear bumper in Sedona. Fixed it with zip ties and they were none the wiser when I returned it...a good thing since I didn't get their insurance.

We had a marvelous time. AZ is my favorite state.

69Supersport, here a pic my wife took. Notice the time.
And to think I thought it was hot in So FL. I did enjoy the low humidity...the monsoons and dust storms...not so much.

I stick my nose in about every day but don't always log on. Just got the wheels back from the coating place, I removed the flat black PlastiDip I had put on them for a temporary solution and had them done in a semi-gloss finish. Wife gave her approval which is good as I wasn't going to go with a flat finish again (she was the one who wanted that).

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Dang, what an ordeal getting internet connected through ATT. But finally back in business. We are pretty much moved in. Not all boxes unpacked yet & we still have all the garage & shed stuff to move. The old house is being painted. Mike went by today & said they are almost finished. They could not save the hard wood floors which is sad. We have to replace & are doing a laminate in the great room & carpet in bedrooms. So buyers will have a refreshed home.

On a different note, my daughter survived hurricane Michael. She has lots of trees down on her place but no damage to the house or vehicles. She just got electricity back on last evening. She also had her 2 year check-up at Mayo Clinic yesterday & is still cancer free (for the Appendix cancer) and will continue being monitored for it & for the multiple myeloma she has low markers for. All in all, great news.

Fantastic news about your daughter!! Glad to hear it.

Did you and Mike move yourselves or hire someone? I am just curious, do not look forward to all the packing and lifting when we move South from PA in a couple of years. My old 66 year old back may not be very cooperative!

Good luck with your new crib, the pics you had posted earlier looked great!!
