Detail Saturday!

Currently -20 degrees celcius (-4F) in Edmonton Canada, with plenty of fluffly snow and ice. So, while scratching my itch to go cruising is starting to draw blood... I figured that this would be a great day to detail the car. Since I haven't done anything with it since my last drive back in November, a polish and wax job was well overdue!

For kicks I snapped some pics (hey that rhymes!) to share with those who are suffering the same wait.

Enjoy...

The job started by way of removing nearly 4 months of dust with my wonderful California Duster. Then I went into a complete waterless wash with some "spam" from Canadian Tire, and tuned into a little Gumball Rally. It was nice to see some paint again! After that, I taped off the 3M areas, as well as the window trim, fired up some Bandit on the Acer and was ready to go!

I started with Megwiars Scratch-X which while it advertises to remove surface scratches, it really didn't do much. However, every little bit helps!
It was then time to polish and wax, and the perfect time to pull up Ultimate Factories on YouTube, followed by Bruckheimer's Gone In 60 Seconds! I was havin' a great day!

I tried a relatively new product to Canada (well to Crappy Tire anyway) called Auto Glym. A british import with some great reviews and as you'll catch in the pics, awesome results! The swirlies that the wax produced looked like the backdrop for the stage on The Muppet Show! Anybody with IBM will really get the effect! The day closed with some Pearl Jam Radio on Sirius while detailing the wheels and doorjambs.

Well... we're ready for the Alberta cruise in June so bring it on... and good-bye snow!!

Thanks everybody... all by hand.
Did the leather today, engine cover's next week!
I can't wait til this snow melts off! Still looks like a winter wonderland outside.

It's probably the same as Megwiars auto detailer.
Applies the same way.. And seems to have the same effect.
There's no "ingredients" listed so ya gotta be a natural risk taker.
It's served me well!

I got a personal demonstration for the wax today and also received some free samples at the Toronto auto show. If you give them some personal info they will send you an e-mail so you can receive 20-30 % off at CTC. I will be buying some once the car is on the road.
