I own an Ecoboost and I have driven the new 5.3. The 5.3 is far from weak sauce. I think the 5.0 F150 is great, but the 5.3 Chevy is better.

The whole argument is hilarious! 5.3 didn't stand a chance against the ecoboost. So then the 6.2 gets thrown in the mix. We talking 3.5 here with baby turbos.

The new f150 with the 3.5tt will be off the charts. You take 600 pounds off I guarantee you stock that truck will be running 14 flat and tuned high 12s.

That's EXACTLY why I buy trucks. . . To live life "a quater mile at a time." Unless you're talking Lightnings, SRT-10's, or even the new Tremor...I don't see how 1/4 times should weigh in on a truck purchase.

Listen, I hear what you're saying, but why do you seem so eager to pick a fight?

Btw I did buy my truck to run the quarter mile, get groceries, haul the family around , tow multiple trailers and get good mpg. I ended up with fx2 ( no 4x4 needed) sunroof back up camera ...fully loaded.

Also why do people buy v6 muscle cars instead of v8s?.....

Crysalias... Also I beat Ford lighting at the track. . So what's your point?

This is f150 thread correct? Not picking a fight just shining light on why ecoboost is better than the rest.

Not sure how a DI turbo V6 is better than the rest. It's a great compromise solution but it isn't the fastest, doesn't get the best mileage and is far from the best at towing.

It's a good balanced choice, but not the best at everything.

Not sure what u consider fast? Low 13s with tune only is pretty fast. I don't know of any 1500 truck that's running low 13s with tune only?

Let's say most people tow around 6k with a 1500. I'm pretty sure I can out drag and mpg any other 1500 while towing.

So what truck can compete with that? ....

it is the best selling... not to mention the F150 is the best selling full size pickup for the past 36 years.. GM can make whatever excuses they want to about how 2013 5.3 isn't the same as 2014 5.3 but it's still garbage in the public's eye.. people are still willing to ride the 5.7 Hemi wave, so that should tell you what GM's chance is for their model.. the 6.2 sucks at elevation and when Ford releases their power figures for 2015 people will be even less willing to throw money at an old pushrod 2v dinosaur

I'm going to say maybe 28 Highway. With the Ram at 25 and Silverado at 24 it would have to be at least 26 as you suggest.

Did they post HP and torque numbers? I think the 2.7 will be the FE special and "may" not deliver the great drivability and performance everyone is posting about above.
