Procharger intercooler MAF placement issues
Has anyone experienced issues with the MAF being installed on the discharge side of procharger 1300hp intercooler? Car was running great for awhile on around 15-17lbs of boost. Then it started falling on its face when I got into it hard. Thought I was starting to see spark blow out as I had the gap set to .035 on E-85. So I swapped out the plugs with a new set gapped to .023. Still does it. Does it less in gears 1-3 but if I romp on it it sputters and falls over, clutch it in and rev it up and the engine stops sputtering. Wondering if anyone has had this sort of issue? Or if anyone has relocated the maf to the charge pipe just before the TB?

I had a similar issue when I first went to my turbo setup. But I couldn't get to 1lb of boost. Pat G determined that my MAF couldn't keep up and was slightly off. He ended up switching my car to speed density tune and never looked back. According to him it was just slightly off and still causing what seems like a major issue.

Is your tune MAF only? Id put the scanner on it and do some logging. That will show you what the maf is reading.

Tuner is going to let me borrow his HP Tuners interface to data log a couple street hits today to help narrow it down.

So after data logging its either something funky with the ignition or the MAF, we actually unplugged the MAF and it repeated the issue. Pulling the front clip to clean the MAF and triple check all the grounds. If it still does that I am going to make a couple multi lead ground harnesses for my coils to see if that fixes it. Hoping to make my first track appearance with the build on Sunday.

You could post the tune and log on hptuners forum and get better help there. Good luck

I prefer the MAF in the charge pipe before the TB I feel the response is better and more consistent from car to car. Oil and dirt contamination may be your issue. I prefer the MAF in a 4 inch charge pipe before the TB I feel the response is better and more consistent from car to car.

Yeah I wish they sold the pipe with the maf fitting in it. Going to pull the front clip and clean the MAF tonight see if I can get it to run right in higher gears. Another crappy part of it being in the intercooler is the bumper brace blocks you from pulling it out, unless you pull the whole intercooler. If that doesn't fix it I am making some multi-lead grounds and tapping into the grounds for the coils and grounding them to the heads.

So pulled the MAF it was clean, cleaned it anyway. Put it all back together and still gives me the problem. Has had a few people look at it, its a real head scratcher, something is screwy. More than likely a wiring issue somewhere, gonna be a fun one to track down.
Not throwing any codes at all.

Well my issue is not the MAF, not the wiring. I had the ground on the front of the drivers side head come loose at some point the bolt that held it in dropped and the ground was hanging free between the block and the procharger bracket. I am wondering if that ground bouncing around could have been enough to hose the ECM and make it act erratically. No codes being thrown now except one telling me my check engine light is out. Now falling on its face on every pull in every gear.

This fuse is an ignition source AND the MIL light fuse. Ck this and I’d go ahead and put in a new 5 amp fuse. I had the same issue and finally put in an add a circuit... https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showp...&postcount=618 https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showp...&postcount=624 -Don

Wondering now if its a fuel issue, noticed the gauge on my mechanical regulator is dropping fuel pressure when it sits. Had my son rev it in neutral as I watched the gauge under the hood. Idle pressure is about 60psi when he revved it up it was dropping to 40. When I shut the motor off the gauge was reading 60 but after an two hours it bled off to 0.
