Guessing this is the end..Rod Knock?

Had the car running for less than a month... Not sure what i'm going to do, Just spent so much money getting to this point...Didn't even get a track day...

I just had the same sound. Pulled it apart and found a spun rod bearing. Picked up a katech 416... had it running in 3 days....

What rpm have you been spinning it too? When and how did it start knocking?

Looks like a certain percentage of these motors are not holding up to the big rpm. It's a roll of the dice.

She's tuned for about 7,300 with my max package..Everything's been going great until now..

I called them, they had one in stock, was 6k. Spun mine to 7200.

I didn't start hearing it until I started her today, I made a small pull last night but didn't hear anything before I cut her off...Maybe she's been knocking for awhile and just started to get loud enough to notice? Idk..

My oil pressure is actually still normal.. Not sure how that works

you already have a nice top end. id pull the motor out and tear it down. If the block isnt hurt, id take it to a machine shop just to clean it up real good and get a new rotating assembly and put it back together. It will cost you a lot less than what you paid for that GPI MAX Package and you will have youre car rolling better than ever

I called all the shops in my area, they were all booked for weeks. Katech had that short block on the shelf... calling my name... so I got out the card and continued on. Ya only live once....

Ok so after talking with Ryan at GPI I'm probably gonna go with a new forged 376 rotating assembly and have my local shop clean and install on my stock short block..so new pistons/rods/ and crank and cam bearings..hopefully only be out around 3k...sucks that this happend...but once i have a built bottom end I should be good to go... PS: cheers, been drinking my pain away tonight lol

Ok guys, I just realized there may be some serious misconceptions here...This problem has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of GPI's products..Shit like this just happens from time to time, no rhyme no reason..I'm not blaming GPI at all.. I personally cannot speak highly enough about their products, and im not trying to be some fan boy, they're well proven within the community..sometimes stock parts fail..so chill out
