No need for it, it gains you no power. Sorry, should have been more specific, changing to aftermarket mufflers gains you no power...just sound.

Best piece of advice you will get is - don’t be in a rush to get your build done and do it right the first time. Even if you can do it with cheaper parts wait till you can get the right stuff. If not you will be upgrading parts and regretting your decision. Enjoy every stage of the car no matter what.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm a lot older now and have a lot more patience than when I was younger.

Should I go with a 3" exhaust or a 2.5"?

2.5 will be fine. You dont need 3 inch until you get a blower or turbo, or pushing over 500whp.

I need a little clarification. When you do what I'm trying to do, do you need cats? Should I go with high flow cats? And do I run the same 4 o2 sensors or only 2?

Some of those answers depend on what your tuner prefers. The tuner may even have you get a specific type injector or fpcm, etc... some depend on the state you live in and what type, if any, of inspection procedures they follow. You will need O2 extenders for the rear sensors.

I have high flow cats on because sometimes the police will look under the car for them.

I had gwatneyperformance give me there recommendations and they said to use their HP tuners mpvi-2 for the tuning. But I didn't specify on what I was doing with the exhaust just that I was going with long tubes. Here in Texas they don't do a sniff test only plug into the obd port and as long as there isn't any codes your good. So knowing that what would you do?

Pretty much same here but they are supposed to do a safety check too. If I was in texas I would go no cats, no shirt, no F's given!

I have a question.

I'm currently doing an AFM/VVT delete kit on an L99/Camaro. Some have said to replace the oil pump with the LS3 pump/drop the pan and do the relief valve block off.

The car is also getting a camshaft upgrade, and currently has a Whipple setup running 6-7 psi.

Is the pump/relief valve modification necessary? Some say it will run too much oil psi if not done, reading around others say it's fine. The car will most likely have shift points around 62-6500 after the camshaft. This is the 1st AFM/DOD delete i've done, so looking for some advice on this.

I personally don't think it's necessary because the relief valve I think is at 50 psi. But I've heard of people on here saying that they have like 60-70 psi at cruising. So I don't know if the relief valve modification is done on their engine or not because I have approximately 60 psi at cruising without any modification to my relief valve but I do have the melling 10295 high pressure pump. But I'm fixing to swap it out for the melling m365hv. Mainly because I have low oil pressure at idle when warm like 16-17 psi. Hopefully someone with a little more experience can chime in.
