FREE intake manifold for emissions test volunteer
Hi. I'm new to this forum. I don't have a Camaro but I am looking for one.
The company I work for manufactures a composite intake manifold for the LS family of engines. I'm not sure how site sponsor rules work so I won't say any brand names. The intake is known by a series of letters. I'm not trying to sell or promote anything. I am looking for a volunteer. We need a 2010 V8 Camaro for an emissions test. The aftermarket intake will be professionally installed. The car will then be tested on a chassis dyno in a professional laboratory setting. The car will be "driven" on a simulated emissions test course as tailpipe emissions are captured. It is not testing for power or 1/4 mile times or anything aggressive like that. At the end of the test, the aftermarket intake will be given to the car owner. Here are some of the requirements: - The car must have a bone stock powertrain. No aftermarket air filter, intake, exhaust, valve train, re-programmed computer, etc. - The car must have at least 4000 miles on the odometer. - The car must have been purchased in California and be certified for California emissions regulations. - The car would need to be delivered to the test lab in Ontario, CA. And picked up after the testing. - The car would need to be left at the test facility for about two weeks. Most of that time is waiting for administrative stuff to occur. - The owner would need to agree to not modify the car for about 3 months after the test. And make it available again for re-testing on the off chance the regulatory body exercises their right to do a confirmatory test at their own lab. As I understand it, that is rare. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you have a car you would like to volunteer. Thanks. |

Who really has a stock Camaro with 4k on the odometer? Man I would do it, but I'm not stock either.

Mine doesn't have enough miles on it (it's also an '11) but even if it did... I wouldn't hand deliver it to Canada for two weeks and hand the keys to some random people for "testing".
Sorry but this just doesn't sound like a good deal at all. Do you have any insurance policy if you break the car? What about transportation there and back?

The funny thing is I'm try to think of what company this is. Fast already has a intake manifold. Edlebrock is in Torrance. The clue is a series of letter.

I'm not trying to make this a riddle or be secretive. I just honestly don't know if saying company names would make anyone mad - moderators, sponsors, etc.
You are very close already. In fact, you could have stopped halfway through your post. I didn't say the intake was a new product. The intake name starts with the first two letters of your engine. Maybe if you want to guess, I can blink once for yes and twice for no. |

Mine is completely stock. But I'm not sure on leaving it for two weeks.
How soon would you need this? |
